“God” as a Superior Source of Ethics?

…”God” as a Superior Source of Ethics?…

Some people often act as though there “must” be some, exterior influence, or structure, which holds us under threat of a wrathful “god”…

…otherwise, “nobody” is moral or ethical…or responsible…

And maybe for atheists, there still exists an exterior influence…a structure which threatens us with consequences, imposed by our surroundings and the situations we find ourselves in…

Maybe we all do have an imposing list of menacing threats, which keep us in line…

I would not argue against that distinct and practical fact of life…

…but to imply that stories of a wrathful “god”, are some type of “superior” source for our ethics, as opposed to understanding natural consequences, employing rational thought, discovering empathy and human decency…

…now, that is just a complete load of hogwash…

Threats from a mystical boogeyman, are a poor source of ethics…as they are inherently unethical, in their own right. Forcing submissiveness, by threatening ones fate, is like holding a person hostage at gun point.

It is very negative, as a form of enforcement, and it can cause very real trauma, and personal discord with living ones life naturally and at peace.

Life experience is generally a superior teacher…You learn consequences, and why you want to avoid such consequences.
