In 2016, Kinky Sex is the New Norm…

01) PlayBoy Magazine: In 2016, Kinky Sex is the New Norm

“SEXUALITY ISN’T “ONE SIZE FITS ALL”

[Dr. Michael] Aaron points out that from a scientific perspective, there’s no connection between sexual kinks and psychopathology. “Healthy sexuality encompasses so much beyond traditional notions of intimacy,” he writes. “A fixation on traditional notions of intimacy leads to far ‘unhealthier’ sex than just going with the flow and surrendering to whatever the moment lends itself to.” Sexual intimacy can also mean different things to different people and still be healthy.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SEXUAL ADDICTION

there is no scientific evidence proving that problematic sexual behavior is similar to drug or alcohol addiction.

SEX-NEGATIVITY IS A FORM OF CULTURAL CONTROL

The popularity of “sex addiction” as a pathological condition is just another way sex has been used to control us.

SEXUAL KINKS ARE LIKE SEXUAL ORIENTATION

Research suggests that paraphilias (or unusual sexual interests) are like a sexual orientation in that they are with you early in life and can’t be changed, no matter how hard you try.

A purely environmental, trauma-based explanation simply does not hold up. And scientific evidence confirms this.”

Interesting article…

Once again…let us pause and acknowledge that there is nothing about being a pedophile, which makes it a psychopathology.

While I’d hardly dismiss being a pedophile to the category of “a sexual kink”…the point is still entirely relevant.

As a side note…there has been a long debate, over what separates a sexual orientation from a sexual fetish…And certain people [who I presume wish to diminish it’s legitimacy] have argued, that pedophilia is nothing more than a sexual fetish.

My preferred distinction was introduced to me, a handful of years back…

It defines sexual orientations as attraction to a reciprocating, sentient being…Whereas a fetish somehow involves a non-living item…anything that has no possibility, whatsoever, of comprehending anything at all.

Fetishes are more about using tools of enhancement…

…Orientation is about who you are naturally inclined to be with.

Those arguing that pedophilia is a fetish…are essentially trying to tell us…that children have cognition, ability of communication and senses, equivalent to that of a lifeless sex toy.

Putting aside the outrageous fallacy in that…They are also [I think willfully, in most cases] ignoring that the alleged “inability of a child to consent” is a legal construction…It is not a law of nature.

I’ve always thought that “sex addiction” was largely a whole lot of flim flam…from yet another, newly emerging “sex treatment” [sex exploitation, is more accurate] industry.

Sure…some people have a harder time getting a handle on their sex life…But how many people honestly need clinics and sex therapists?

It seems to me…these things have moved in and filled the void, that’s been left by that fact that we are so up tight about talking about sex, even in our normal support structures [ie: family]…Now you seek out strangers and pay them for the advice, because you’re too embarrassed and fearful of discussing it with people you know.

…It’s just sad.

…It also shows why Alfred Kinsey’s word was [and still is] so important…and why it’s persecution is so detrimental…

…For as loose as we seem to appear on the surface…there remains this massive disconnect of communication and understanding [and hence, often a lack of social empathy, and support structures]…People who have these kinks they’re too embarrassed to talk about, don’t even understand how normal they factually are…And they are isolated from any avenue, to come to terms with it.

Not even knowing where you stand, makes you vulnerable to the whims of larger society…as well as that of those who would profit off of your suffering…

…Absolutely the same quandary, we pedophiles find ourselves in.

Go read the article…It’s a good one.

I’m having one of those sour “damn it!” moments…”Alfred Kinsey’s word”…is supposed to be “Alfred Kinsey’s work”..

Strangely, the combination of words still works out relatively okay…

My writing has been badly diminishing…largely because of my eyesight…and other health issues…But I have rarer days of good clarity…This leads me to making a ton of typing errors…and the spellchecker auto corrects some of these words…Sometimes, it chooses the wrong word…

So, my hand may have accidently hit an extra key while typing “work”…and the spell checker decides to replace whatever is there with “word”.

I’m just going to leave this the way it is…But, I’m still annoyed by this…

I’m trying to let go of my “perfectionism”…
