01) Why Free Speech (even Hate Speech) is the best friend of the Oppressed – Jonathan Rauch

“Jonathan Rauch makes a passionate argument in favor of free speech, and tells an inspiring story of Frank Kameny using his free speech to overcome bigotry and discrimination.

They’re talking about MAP issues, also.

This is a good, unique dialogue.

Criticism of ideas is vital, when confronting the people and hostile atmosphere, consumed by false beliefs about MAPs.

It’s interesting that the motives and views of Franklin Kameny, began, and were stated, much as my own…

…I am also a member of a sexual minority, who is a veteran of a foreign war…I am amongst those who served in defense of the USA…and I became disabled, for it…

…I have been asking for decades, how it is…that I can be sent off to fight tyranny on a different continent, against a different government…just to come home and spend the rest of my life facing multiple levels, of relentless tyranny in my own country…at the hands of “my own” government…and “my own” people.

The Founding Fathers did not discriminate about Free Speech, therefore Free Speech includes “hate speech” !!!

I don’t know what you mean by, “shield hate speech” but “hate speech” should not be censored by the news media, Facebook or twitter, or perverted politics. Much of the so called hate speech has nothing to do with hate. Lots of angry people out there, knowing our country is becoming a cesspool of liberalism, gives them the right to hate the ones destroying a once great nation.

        I mean, exactly what I stated…

…If someone expresses something against another person…that other person [or anyone, for that matter] has a right to respond, and hold them accountable for what they’ve expressed.

        They can say it…Absolutely…

…They cannot say it, and be free of the fair criticisms like what you’ve been responding to on this blog.

I’m not living in any culture, where it’s been turned into a “cesspool of liberalism”…In fact, I’d love to actually be able to experience such a culture, for once in my life…

The only culture I know, is one that’s being strangled to death by puritan absolutists.

I’m getting the strong sense, you’re intentionally trolling.
