Steemit/Dtube vs. YouTube…

Date: February 13, 2018

01) Steemit/Dtube vs. YouTube [Does not seem to be working, at present.]”

WTF is D-Tube & Steemit.. & Why You SHOULD Care:

Apparently…Dtube is built on javascript…Not sure if that’s a good thing, or not.

I think you have to use a browser like FireFox, in order to fully access these websites [open an account, etc.].

Not sure how viable Dtube and Steemit are, as platforms for MAPs to be on…But I’m intrigued by the possibility of a new video hosting website…where, theoretically, you wont get censored.

The whole “getting paid structure”, confuses me…Somehow, being tied to crypto currency “provides the money”?…

…I just don’t get that…Where is the primary service [and hence, income] coming from?

A service that runs on ads, makes sense…but this?…

…You just write/blog…upload videos…vote and comment…and magically, there is currency there to pay you for your efforts?…

Don’t get me wrong…I’m not planning on making a go at professional media creation…

…I’ve just always thought the crypto currency scene comes off…like a Ponzi scam of some sort.

I’m not interested in it, for making money…but I’ve tried to do reading on things like Bitcoin, to attempt understanding it…how people are “mining” it…

…I kind of get parts of it…but I still don’t see where real life value is getting pumped into the crypto currency market…

…It’s like a corporation, without any physical assets…just stock shares, and a mission to assist in purchases.

When they release new coins…how do they get their value?…Who has paid for it?
