01) The Ugly Face Of Carceral Feminism – TFF episode 78

“Should a man be sent to jail and have to register as a sex offender for 10 years because at age 18 he had an under-age girlfriend who sent him nude photos of herself?

“Directing the movement’s energy into the criminal justice system doesn’t build the power we need to stop sexual violence: It allies us with a system that’s incompatible with liberation.”

“[…] Some members of Britan’s House of Lords are advocating that the U.K. do just that: stop imprisoning women, full stop. It’s a move mainly supported by the House’s female members, including Baroness Jean Corston, who in 2007 put out a report on the ways that English women are made especially vulnerable by the penal system. She didn’t exactly argue that no woman should be in prison, but pointed out that in a system designed by and mostly stocked with men, women’s needs weren’t really being considered.
“We must find better ways to keep out of prison those women who pose no threat to society and to improve the prison experience for those who do,” Corston wrote in her executive summary.”

Professor Janice Fiamengo is a breath of fresh air, in a world being suffocated by a kind of psychosis “feminism”, which deals in self obsession and cultural cruelty towards “the other”…

“… clear abuse of authority as in cases involving female teachers …”

Appears to me as if Janice Fiamengo is assuming the mantle of a hardened feminist in this clip, by advocating a complete absence of compassion and a bucket-full of punishment whenever teacher-pupil relationships transcend from platonic to loving.

Well…Yes…We cant actually have everything, all the time.

Most people who’ve gotten that far in life, aren’t going to advocate for such things…unfortunately.

I try not to go too far, with my expectations.

“We cant actually have everything, all the time.” Trouble is Steve we have worse than nothing at all all the time.

Given the existence of this perpetual worse-than-nothing existence, I feel sufficiently enraged to identify and point out every layer of deceit that very effectively obscures the truth. Janice is highlighting the top layer, agreed, but in condoning the subsequent layers – denying a couple the right to fall in love, irrespective of age, suppressing child sexuality, labeling minor-attraction as a mental disorder – she is fully supporting the brand of carceral feminism that has done and continues to do untold damage to society across the Anglosphere.

I think, she does still say important things.

By all means, feel totally free to point out what is lacking, or otherwise wrong…But I appreciate her viewpoints on a number of things.
