Elon Musk tweets he’ll “bet ya a signed dollar” that Thai cave rescuer is a “pedo”…

Date: July 15, 2018

01) Elon Musk tweets he’ll “bet ya a signed dollar” that Thai cave rescuer is a “pedo”

“Elon Musk seems not only intent on burning all the goodwill he earned for trying to help last week’s Thai cave rescue, but rolling around in its ashes, too. In a series of extraordinarily offensive, now deleted tweets, the SpaceX and Tesla CEO called a British diver who participated in last week’s dangerous rescue mission a “pedo guy,” adding in another tweet “bet ya a signed dollar it’s true.”

Quite the bruised ego, there.

At first, I wasn’t sure why people were suggesting this was a racist expression…

…until seeing the suggestion, that Elon might think Tai people aren’t worthy to live amongst…except for pedophiles, looking to have sex with their children…

..Then, it made sense.

…Though I’m still unclear, that he ever meant his comments in such a way…

With the guy in question telling Elon to stick his sub up his ass…it seems there’s nastiness, on both ends.

…There’s nothing wrong with being a “pedo guy”…just for the record.

Seems to me as if Elon Musk takes exception to being told: “We don’t need you!” Oh well, another potential hero demoted …

And yes, spot on Steve: ‘until seeing the suggestion, that Elon might think Thai people aren’t worthy to live among … except for pedophiles, looking to have sex with their children … Then, it made sense.’

Musk could not have done more damage even if he directed one of his rockets, armed, into the heart of Bangkok. By explicitly implying expats who live in Thailand do so solely to sexually abuse children, also implies that Thai society willingly offers up its children to be abused.

Maybe he meant it for more pragmatically than insulting or racial stereotyping…? He strikes me as a realist and frankly he has a higher average of being correct they are then another place is statistically, or so I’m told LOL actually it’s Czech Republic these days I’m told but you get the idea

The Thai government and Thai military are intensely sensitive to criticism and ridicule – for example their lese majeste laws and this: theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/09/thai-airways-plane-runway-bangkok. I doubt very much whether they would be minded to view Musk’s comments as pragmatic – nor would the one million ex-pats that happen to live in the country.

And I’d like to see the data that shows Thailand to be a mecca for falang-child contact – if I understand your comment correctly Kinder – compared with other countries around the world.

The few times I’ve seen live interviews of him…he’s seemed like his ego is off the charts…like an “I’m better than you”, sort of person…aimed towards the rest of the world population.

You have the same access to the whole sun total of the world’s collective knowledge, same as I have, by way of whatever Digital-Dyno Wonder-Whatsit you’re using as a mode and medium of conveyance for your intellectual property, through your fingertips and into that box and out into the Atomese’s Electric-Ether… I suggest a Boolean search string channeled into whatever is your preferred interested aggregator and indexer. And besides, back carefully, you’ll see that didn’t even make the statement in the first place simply ate knowledged the stereotype, indicating that I have heard more recently that the tourist destination choice for pro-contact Make-A-Wish foundation travel plans is the former Czech Republic. at least according to my friend Larry in whom I place unwavering trust, implicitly, on this topic, as he goes overseas every single year (without fail, and I’ve known him nearly 20 years) for the expressed sole purpose and successful application of said tourism goals. The man knows what he’s talking about, I can attest to that….I’ve seen the Polaroids, more than once

Ah, the good old stereotype … comes in handy when discriminating, even when it has no basis in fact, as in this case.

I love to be surprised but stereotypes are there for reason and the reason humans use stereotyping is actually biologically significant in pattern recognition and self-preservation… Be that as it may you don’t have to like it but it’s there for a reason and when I’m surprised it’s usually pleasant

Musk obliged to apologise due to pressure from Tesla shareholders? uk.yahoo.com/finance/news/tesla-investors-demand-elon-musk-190803051.html

By the logic of Musk, one might well accuse him of being a pedo too. Both he and Unsworth were intent on doing precisely the same thing … attempting to get to a group of stranded boys to save them. The only alternative I can think of is that he believes every non-Asian male living in Thailand to be a child-abusing sex offender.

But a couple of months later, this from Elon Musk, allegedly …

“I suggest that you call people you know in Thailand, find out what’s actually going on and stop defending child rapists, you fucking asshole. He’s an old, single white guy from England who’s been traveling to or living in Thailand for 30 to 40 years, mostly Pattaya Beach, until moving to Chiang Rai for a child bride who was about 12 years old at the time. There’s only one reason people go to Pattaya Beach. It isn’t where you’d go for caves, but it is where you’d go for something else. Chiang Rai is renowned for child sex-trafficking. He may claim to know how to cave dive, but he wasn’t on the cave dive rescue team and most of the actual dive team refused to hang out with him. I wonder why … As for this alleged threat of a lawsuit, which magically appeared when I raised the issue (nothing was sent or raised beforehand), I fucking hope he sues me.”

Damn, that stereotype is just like a turd that won’t flush.
