Kids on the Sex Offender Registry…

Date: August 29, 2018

01) Kids on the Sex Offender Registry

“The headlines today are full of stories of righteous indignation over immigrant children being separated from their families. While that dilemma is certainly newsworthy, the American public seems largely unaware of the fact that tens of thousands of our own children are being taken from their families each year and tossed into a rapacious legal system that chews them up and spits them out as sex offenders. As hard as it may be to believe, The Department of Justice estimates that there are at least 89,000 children on the sex offender registry, and it should come as no surprise to anyone that it’s destroying their lives.”

“Child Pornography May Make A Comeback After Court Ruling Guts Regulations Protecting Minors

The case revolves around U.S. Code Title 18 Section 2257, which requires porn producers to keep stringent records on the ages of performers and allows federal agents to inspect them at any time.

Judge Michael Baylson of the U.S. 3rd Circuit of Appeals ruled that most of 2257’s record keeping requirements were unconstitutional on First and Fourth Amendment grounds. The ruling allows primary producers to fulfill age verification obligations by using a form developed by the Free Speech Coalition, the industry association that brought the lawsuit against 2257.

… the decision completely exempts major distributors (termed secondary producers), from any record-keeping requirements.”

“Have your papers ready at all times”…eh?…

…Sounds so, so familiar…

It’s always shocking, wherever a court actually upholds the U.S. Constitution…let alone, human rights…wherever the boogieman of “child pornography” is involved.

The courts, public intellect and other “social safeguards” have almost unanimously failed…habitually…for the last four decades…

Do note, their focus on “the young looking”…and how this has been about obstructing depictions of “the young looking”…by adding a totally absurd burden and consequence, to the practice of hosting it.

If they cannot legally ban it outright…they strangle it to death, through other methods.

In a weird way…I suppose this may have been vetting legally questionable content, and acting as a buffer for those times when you unintentionally stumble across “twink porn” [or the like], where the age of the participants is absolutely vague…

…and it’s strange to have to acknowledge that…

…It’s like thanking your captors, for withholding a beating for the day…

Of course…given a court system with integrity…this sort of thing unquestionably must be brought down…It’s inevitable…It has no legal leg to stand on…just public sentiment…

The maddening, enraging tragedy in this type of nonsense…is the amount of time, funds and energy it takes…to kill these statutory monstrosities, which clearly never should have been enacted in the first place…

…”Our” government passes this type of thing…and it takes two decades to get anything accomplished, in correcting the mess they’ve made…

All they need to do…is just keep passing these stupid laws, every so many years…and these special interests still get their way, for a decade or longer…and the social devastation ensues at their hands, even when the laws are ultimately struck down…

This is one of the reasons, why we need a fundamental change in culture…With it, will come a fundamental change in government…and we can jettison these malcontents from all public offices.

These terroristic aggressors have no business being there.

FOSTA and the Alt-Right Are Censoring Speech About Child Protection…

01) FOSTA and the Alt-Right Are Censoring Speech About Child Protection

There’s a fair bit of nose pinching you’ll have to do, if you’re at all educated and open minded about intergenerational relationships…But, this is an important issue.

We should never stand by idly, while MAPs are being censored…Communication and association is a base, human right…

…This is a line, it is never okay, under any circumstances whatsoever, for hostile outsiders to cross and interfere.

“The proponents of the anti-trafficking law FOSTA have claimed (falsely) that since passage of the law there has been a 90% fall in the number of sex advertisements published online. But whatever its real impact on sex ads, what’s beyond doubt is that the law has resulted in the censorship of a lot of constitutionally protected speech—including discussions about child sexual abuse prevention.

The Woodhull Freedom Foundation and four other plaintiffs are currently challenging the constitutionality of FOSTA in court. (You can hear Electronic Frontier Foundation lawyer David Greene talking about lawsuit in the clip from our launch event below.)

Although the plaintiffs’ free speech claims relate to discussions of consensual sex work and massage therapy, child sexual abuse (CSA) also falls within the statute’s definition of “sex trafficking,” at least in cases where somebody gives or receives something of value in association with the abuse. This doesn’t mean that any speech about CSA is forbidden, but it does create a large grey area of uncertainty about what is permitted and what isn’t.

In particular, would a platform that allows pedophiles to post online be considered as “knowingly assisting, facilitating, or supporting” CSA? Instinctively, many of us might answer yes. And that’s certainly the correct answer when it comes to content that directly facilitates abuse, such as transmitting child pornography or grooming children. These are not constitutionally protected speech and ought not to be allowed online.

But what about pedophiles who speak out against CSA? If this sounds unlikely, that may be because of the common but false assumption that all pedophiles abuse children, and that all child abusers are pedophiles. But in reality most CSA is committed by those who are primarily sexually attracted to adults, and conversely many of those who are sexually attracted to minors choose never to act on that attraction. Some of this latter group use social media to interact with peers and professionals who support them in their quest to remain non-offending for life.

What should be done about such content? Experts say that as confronting as it may be to hear from pedophiles and other so-called minor-attracted persons (MAPs) online, allowing them to safely connect with peers and professionals can provide them with a social support system that could help protect children from abuse. Even so, that’s a tough sell to Internet platforms, who don’t always have the resources or the expertise to differentiate between MAPs who speak out against abuse, and those who seek to excuse or minimize it. And FOSTA hasn’t made this decision any easier for them.

One significant Internet platform recently delivered its answer. Last Tuesday, Medium deleted dozens of articles that had been collected in a publication provocatively (yet accurately) titled “Pedophiles About Pedophilia,” and banned its editors and authors from the site. The Internet Archive (which is, not coincidentally, a plaintiff in the FOSTA lawsuit) has a partial archive of the banned publication here.”

So…”Pedophiles About Pedophilia”, a group blog of virped members, got suspended by Medium…I’ve shared a number of their articles here, in the past.

I’m not sure exactly when this happened, as I’m a tad disconnected lately…but it was recent.

I’m not a huge fan of medium…but some MAPs liked it…and it’s always bad, when a platform starts discriminating against MAPs.

Vatican Power Struggle Bursts Into Open as Conservatives Pounce…

01) Vatican Power Struggle Bursts Into Open as Conservatives Pounce

“ROME — Since the start of his papacy, Francis has infuriated Catholic traditionalists as he tries to nurture a more welcoming church and shift it away from culture war issues, whether abortion or homosexuality. “Who am I to judge?” the pope famously said, when asked about gay priests.

Just how angry his political and doctrinal enemies are became clear this weekend, when a caustic letter published by the Vatican’s former top diplomat in the United States blamed a “homosexual current” in the Vatican hierarchy for sexual abuse. It called for Francis’ resignation, accusing him of covering up for a disgraced cardinal, Theodore E. McCarrick.

With the letter — released in the middle of the pope’s visit to Ireland — an ideologically motivated opposition has weaponized the church’s sex abuse crisis to threaten not only Francis’ agenda but his entire papacy. At the very least, it has returned the issue of homosexuality in the Roman Catholic Church, which many conservatives are convinced lies behind the abuse crisis, to the center of debate.

Vatican intrigues and power struggles are nothing new, but they usually remain within the medieval walls or fly over the heads of the Catholic faithful around the globe.

This battle, however, is being waged in an exceptionally open and brutal manner. It is fueled by a modern media age, the pope’s reluctance to silence critics, and an issue — child sexual abuse — that perhaps more than any other has prompted defections among the faithful.”

The DOJ’s Potential Plans To Create Title IX Sex Offender Database…

01) The DOJ’s Potential Plans To Create Title IX Sex Offender Database

“Campus rights activists and some experts are alarmed by a notice in the August 1 Federal Register. The Department of Justice program “Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering and Tracking” (SMART) plans to collect questionnaires from approximately fifty colleges and universities on behalf of its “Campus Information Sharing and Response Project.”

The forms are estimated to take 15 minutes to complete. The data on campus policies and procedures will include information on “individuals found responsible and sanctioned for campus sexual misconduct policy violations.” The public has until August 31 to comment.

SMART was established by the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006. The Act not only created a federal sex offender registry but also instructed states to post the personal data of offenders in their jurisdictions online, including addresses and photographs.

Walsh slots sex offenders into three categories: Tier Three consists of the most serious criminals, who must register for life and report their location every three months. Tier Two offenders register for 25 years and report every six months. Tier One offenders register for 15 years and report every year.

Failure to comply is a felony. Those who do comply confront severe limitations in employment, education, and social access. Some professions are closed to them; many universities will not enroll them; they cannot reside in areas with easy access to children. According to SMART’s website, the program provides “jurisdictions with guidance” and technical assistance to implement Walsh. One of its major functions is to provide funding to create sex offender registries

The alarm bell rings from several directions.”

Bernie Declares Victory In DNC Reform Fight…

01) Bernie Declares Victory In DNC Reform Fight

“The Democratic Party, still parsing the 2016 primary contest between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, on Saturday voted to limit the power of so-called “superdelegates” in selecting the party’s presidential nominee. It’s a win for the party’s left, members of which have voiced concerns that the prior system favored pre-ordained picks and diminished voters’ say.

The Democratic National Committee in a meeting in Chicago on Saturday voted to approve the change, which prevents superdelegates from voting on the first ballot in a contested national convention…

The Truth About John McCain…

Date: August 28, 2018

01) The Truth About John McCain

“US President Donald Trump will not attend the funeral of his political antagonist John McCain, a spokesman for the late senator has said.

“The president will not be, as far as we know, attending the funeral,” said McCain family friend Rick Davis. “That’s just a fact.”

Mr Davis read out a posthumous message from McCain that appeared to take a thinly veiled dig at Mr Trump.

In the message, McCain urged Americans not to “hide behind walls”…

I’m the same…

…I don’t like being callous, in the aftermath of a recent death…There’s too many complex things going on…and it’s important to have some respect for the family…

…But I feel dirty and hypocritical, about the notion of revising the past.

…I think that truth outweighs all else…We just don’t have to shove it in the face of the newly grieving.

New boy love book now available…

Date: August 28, 2018

01) New boy love book now available

A bit late to this…I’m not sure if you can actually get a copy, at the moment.

“The Unorthodox Thing About Love by Jonas Boehm

Synopsis: While grieving the loss of his twin sister, Reuben meets Jonathan, a lonely teenage boy who finds himself unabashedly interested in the stranger to the Cleveland Orthodox Jewish community. Both outcasts, the two develop a friendship in full view of a harsh religious environment.

Reuben’s life is shattered without the one person who understood him. Jonathan is faced with family and school pressures to become a religious scholar, something he isn’t sure he wants. As the two spend time learning more about each other, they discover a world exists beyond the black and white of religious law, and when raw feelings surface, they struggle with the consequences of their attraction.

But their secret gets exposed. Religion and society try to tear their forbidden love apart. As they work through their feelings for each other, religious leaders and a powerful international Jewish organization unite to put a stop to their relationship. Jonathan and Reuben must decide whether to fight their religion and embrace their love or walk away and conform to tradition.

This coming-of-age, intergenerational romance touches on the idea that we don’t get to choose who we love and that love is its own authority, unbound by gender, religion, and law.
