A pity that there is no equivalent eulogy for the millions of civilians worldwide who have been killed as a result of jingoistic US foreign policies over the past fifty plus years. But of course, then you would have more than one remembrance on every day of every year, and that would render such initiatives predictable and boring, and devalue them.
