“Senator Bernie Sanders FURIOUS Speech Ahead of Senate Final Vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh Confirmation to Supreme Court”

I remain skeptical over the “20 to 25 percent” statistic, claiming this is how many females have been sexually assaulted.

Other than that…good speech.

“Many books are just a proverb extended 300 pages. With that idea in mind, the PAU talks intend to offer a window for the Stanford intellectual community to express ideas in a nutshell. Simplex sigillum veri.

“The aphorism, the apothegm, are the forms of ‘eternity’; my ambition is to say in ten sentences what everyone else says in a book – what everyone else does not say in a book”

Existential Despair…

It can be hard, warding off existential despair…especially when you believe you are just trapped, and have no meaning…or your meaning is robbed from you…

I live by the philosophy…that life is what you make of it…or what you comprehend it to be…

…and maybe this part of my life philosophy, is a product of many factors [social, natural and biological] which fall outside of my control…Maybe I don’t control, arriving at this conclusion…Maybe I just think that I’ve logically concluded this…

…But, I think it’s a good place to be at, no matter how I got here.

You cant control most things in life…if anything at all…

…If you arrive at a place where you sense personal control, however…you can at least gain some type of satisfaction in life.

01) How Parents Of Baby Boomers Felt About Their Kids

“As many of my subscribers know, this is a clip from my 6 part PBS documentary series, making sense of the 60s. I loved talking with experts and authors and parents who raise kids at the time where I was a kid. I learned a lot. Most of this section is about the experience that parents had in white middle-class America. Another section of my documentary deals with the experience that black parents and black kids had.

A quote from Hesiod, 8th Century BC “I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words. When I was young, we were taught to be discreet and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly disrespectful and impatient of restraint – David Hoffman”

Waking Up with Sam Harris #139 – Sacred & Profane (with Bill Maher and Larry Charles)…

01) Waking Up with Sam Harris #139 – Sacred & Profane (with Bill Maher and Larry Charles)

“In this episode of the Waking Up podcast, Sam Harris gets together with Bill Maher and Larry Charles to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their film “Religulous.” They discuss religion, politics, comedy, and other dangerous topics.

Bill Maher has set the boundaries of where funny, political talk can go on American television. First on “Politically Incorrect” (Comedy Central, ABC, 1993-2002), and for the last fifteen years on HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher’s combination of unflinching honesty and big laughs have garnered him 40 Emmy nominations. Maher won his first Emmy in 2014 as executive producer for the HBO series, “VICE.” In October of 2008, this same combination was on display in Maher’s uproarious and unprecedented swipe at organized religion, “Religulous,” directed by Larry Charles. The documentary has gone on to become the 8th Highest Grossing Documentary ever.

Larry Charles is an American writer, director, and producer. Charles was a staff writer for the American sitcom “Seinfeld“ for its first five seasons, contributing some of the show’s darkest and most absurd storylines. He has also directed the mockumentary comedy films “Borat” and “Brüno,” the documentary film “Religulous,” and comedy film The Dictator.”
