“Many books are just a proverb extended 300 pages. With that idea in mind, the PAU talks intend to offer a window for the Stanford intellectual community to express ideas in a nutshell. Simplex sigillum veri.

“The aphorism, the apothegm, are the forms of ‘eternity’; my ambition is to say in ten sentences what everyone else says in a book – what everyone else does not say in a book”

Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols”

Existential Despair…

It can be hard, warding off existential despair…especially when you believe you are just trapped, and have no meaning…or your meaning is robbed from you…

I live by the philosophy…that life is what you make of it…or what you comprehend it to be…

…and maybe this part of my life philosophy, is a product of many factors [social, natural and biological] which fall outside of my control…Maybe I don’t control, arriving at this conclusion…Maybe I just think that I’ve logically concluded this…

…But, I think it’s a good place to be at, no matter how I got here.

You cant control most things in life…if anything at all…

…If you arrive at a place where you sense personal control, however…you can at least gain some type of satisfaction in life.
