Shuhada’ Davitt [Sinead O’Connor]: Islam’s Most Recent Famous Convert?…

Date: October 25, 2018

01) Sinead O’Connor renounces Catholicism and converts to Islam

“IRISH singer Sinead O’Connor has revealed she has renounced Catholicism and converted to Islam, taking the new name “Shuhada’ Davitt”.

O’Connor, who last year changed her legal name to Magda Davitt, said she had ditched the Catholic Church for good in a message to fans on Twitter.

The 51-year-old was previously ordained a priest by a breakaway Catholic sect, the Irish Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church, in the late 1990s.

But in a series of recent tweets, the Dubliner revealed she had swapped the clerical collar for the hijab and become a Muslim.

“This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim,” she wrote.

“This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey. All scripture study leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant.

“I will be given (another) new name. It will be Shuhada’.”

  1. Kindly

I advise readers to simply obtain a Quran, and read it independently from the start. See how far you get.

Ask yourself what sort of person stands behind those words.

I have an old series, which I’ve not really gotten underway yet…

It’s a reading and dissection [study] of the Quran…It was prepared to launch, literally just before locked my blog…

…It’s kind of been in limbo, since…I really want to do this…but, I dread going through some of the more massive surahs…

…Kind of wanted to do it, verse by verse…compare it to my own ethics.

The Quran is hard reading…A lot of it doesn’t flow all that well…and some of the surahs are over 300 verses.

I think…I’m going to scale back my vision, a bit…make some audio recordings of at least one version of the Quran…and listen to those, several times over…learn it audibly, and then make a response.

It’s been crossing my mind, to get back to this.
