Her teachers arranged counselling for Hannah to prepare her for her death and when she visited Santa she asked to be spared. But there was no cancer and there were no medical bills. Now that close-knit community wants justice and a jury must decide whether they were the victims of a sadistic fraud.
This film talks exclusively to Bob Milbrandt, Hannah’s father, who is standing trial for conspiracy to the crimes of theft, child endangerment and felonious assault, and to Hannah’s grandmother who is also standing trial for theft. Friends, fundraisers and police investigators reveal how it took nine months to discover the story was false.”

“According to a report by New Scientist, the system is called the National Data Analytics Solution (NDAS) and works by using a “combination of AI and statistics” to assess the risk of someone becoming a victim of gun or knife crime, as well as them becoming a victim of modern slavery. However, the measures that are taken once this system has identified an individual are “a matter of discussion” says Ian Donnelley, the lead on the project. … If this is sounding a little dystopian, your concerns are matched by the Alan Turing Institute. According to New Scientist, a report from the institute said there were “serious ethical issues” about whether such technology is in the public good.” |

Does anyone remember the EQF Public Podium?… …I used to make these, and embed them at the EQF website. They were a way to touch base with my visitors, on a more personal level…a “what’s currently going on at the EQF”, sort of thing. I stumbled across the second one of these I produced, just recently…and thought it was interesting enough to share…as an archived bit of history. It’s interesting to listen back, and realize how I’ve changed since then. |
