01) Actress and director Penny Marshall dies at the age of 75

“She starred in TV’s ‘Laverne and Shirley’ for eight seasons before moving behind the camera to direct seven films.”

The tabloids have had Penny “at deaths door”, since at least the late nineties…I’ve done web searches on her every few years, just to see how she was doing…like I’ve done with a few other famous people I’ve watched and loved…

…This is a really, really sad death.

01) Incredible Small Off-Grid Earthship Home

“This off-the-grid home in Adelaide, Australia is something completely different! An Earthship is a radically sustainable and self-sufficient building which uses a combination of modern off-grid technology, super clever passive solar design techniques and a whole lot of recycled materials (including trash) all mixed with earth building techniques to create an incredible, high performance home.

The small Earthship home was built by Martin and Zoe, as a challenge to create Australia’s first council approved Earthship. Together (and with a lot of volunteer labour) they have worked within the system to create a truly impressive small home.

This Earthship is filled with impressive off-the-grid technology, including solar power, rain-water collection, grey water filtration and much more. The home also uses clever passive technologies such as it’s passive solar design and even a natural cooling system using underground tubes. Beyond all that though, it’s beautiful. The design and finish of this home are sure to leave you impressed! I hope you enjoy the full tour of this amazing small house!

[2009 Research] The consumption of Internet child pornography and violent and sex offending…

01) The consumption of Internet child pornography and violent and sex offending

“Background

There is an ongoing debate on whether consumers of child pornography pose a risk for hands-on sex offenses. Up until now, there have been very few studies which have analyzed the association between the consumption of child pornography and the subsequent perpetration of hands-on sex offenses. The aim of this study was to examine the recidivism rates for hands-on and hands-off sex offenses in a sample of child pornography users using a 6 year follow-up design.

Methods

The current study population consisted of 231 men, who were subsequently charged with consumption of illegal pornographic material after being detected by a special operation against Internet child pornography, conducted by the Swiss police in 2002. Criminal history, as well as recidivism, was assessed using the criminal records from 2008.

Results

4.8% (n = 11) of the study sample had a prior conviction for a sexual and/or violent offense, 1% (n = 2) for a hands-on sex offense, involving child sexual abuse, 3.3% (n = 8) for a hands-off sex offense and one for a nonsexual violent offense. When applying a broad definition of recidivism, which included ongoing investigations, charges and convictions, 3% (n = 7) of the study sample recidivated with a violent and/or sex offense, 3.9% (n = 9) with a hands-off sex offense and 0.8% (n = 2) with a hands-on sex offense.

Conclusion

Consuming child pornography alone is not a risk factor for committing hands-on sex offenses – at least not for those subjects who had never committed a hands-on sex offense. The majority of the investigated consumers had no previous convictions for hands-on sex offenses. For those offenders, the prognosis for hands-on sex offenses, as well as for recidivism with child pornography, is favorable.”

Many people don’t like to hear this…but the superstition of “child pornography causing pedophiles to move on to child molestation”, has never faired all that well when held up to scrutiny.

The Cowards and Their Methods of Concealment…

….

Date: December 17, 2018

“In this way, the puritans have designed a perfect system to hide the evidence that clearly demonstrates children are equal to adults in their desire to behave sexually with others.” – feinmann0LINK

This has always sickened and infuriated me…”Child pornography” is vast…What is documented within it, deals an absolute death blow to the endless bullshit of naysayers…

…What is the response of these gutless, unprincipled, lying, treacherous cowards?…to declare “illegal”, and horribly inhibit, all that proves them wrong.

They do everything within their power, to make certain nothing positive is ever seen by the general public, regarding these issues…while having their own shills, dictating to the public “what is proper to think”.

…These officially approved, canned opinions do not jive well at all, with the real world experience of so freaking many of us…In fact, they are in direct, irreconcilable contradiction, to our lived experiences…And yet, “we” aren’t allowed to testify to the matters of our own lived existence…

This state of things is pure bullshit, on it’s face…It’s completely indefensible, and absolutely inhumane.

Anxiety disorders, PTSD, and OCD linked to inflammatory dysregulation, study finds…

….

01) Anxiety disorders, PTSD, and OCD linked to inflammatory dysregulation, study finds

“Post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders are all positively associated with high levels of inflammation markers in the blood, according to new research published in the journal Depression & Anxiety.

“Broadly, my research program examines the ways that emotions and physiology influence and relate to one another — that is, when someone experiences negative emotions (e.g., sadness, anxiety, anger) frequently and/or intensely what does that do to their physical health?” said study author Megan E. Renna of Columbia University.

“There has been a well-established link between chronic illness and anxiety in the literature over the years. But, it still has been unclear as to what processes, both psychologically and physically, contribute to this association, so I wanted to examine if inflammation may be one of these processes among people with anxiety, traumatic stress, and obsessive-compulsive related disorders.”
