I installed XSplit GameCaster, earlier…This is the first program I started recording with, while I was still testing things out…and wasn’t sure how I was going to progress forward with this…It was also used on a different PC than this one.

For the next few shows, I’m going to be using XSplit to record the matches…I want to see if this sound corruption persists, using different software…Unfortunately, there will be the annoyance of a watermark stamp…and a “break” screen, that cant be shut off, which shows up when there is no picture.

If this software proves to solve the noise corruption issue, I’ll buy a license for it, and just start recording with this…Keep your fingers crossed.

I’m not going to lie about this…I’m not even remotely accustomed to using command line programs.

I did manage to get it successfully installed, and set up to work with Command Prompt…It’s telling me what version it is…but looking at a few of the html pages that came with it…I’m seeing lots of terms, I don’t even know what they mean.

I’m really not sure that I’m ever going to successfully use this…This looks like way, way to much learning…especially given the scope of my media projects…This is supposed to be enjoyable…not a mind numbing drudge. 🙂

I’ll see if I eventually, somewhere down the road, get some time to look at this deeper…but I’m completely lost, as to what I’m supposed to do with this software.

Thanks for the link and info…but I’m just really not all that comfortable with this type of software…and really don’t want to have to spend hours, days, whatever, learning and taking down notes on all the commands.

ffmpeg is complex, but you can easily find help in the manual or online. You need not learn all of it
to be able to capture or reencode.

Here’s a capture example from the link above:
    ffmpeg -f gdigrab -framerate 25 -i title=Calculator [output]

where [output] is the chosen filename, like out.mp4, and Calculator is changed to the name of the game.

      Thank you, Nada.

I hate to keep going back t this, but my eyes have continually gotten worse and worse, especially over the last four or five years. This has left me a lot more focused on just writing, recording and publishing things I think are important [or just enjoy, and want to share], and whatever path gets me to that goal quickest.

If this were ten years earlier, I’d probably have already been testing it out, right now…Twenty years earlier, I’d probably be more seriously learning it.

I’ll look at it, at some point.

One immediate question I do have…once I start the recording…I’m guessing there’s another command to enter to make it stop?
