The truth about paedophilia…

…. Many of the things expressed in this Sub-Blog, I’ve addressed any number of times over the years. I don’t wish to analyze every video, etc., but I do find it valuable to share these kinds of video, etc., even if I disagree substantially with any of it…It’s important to acknowledge and embrace, that there are people out there, who are engaged in levelheaded discussion about “pedophiles”. – Steve

“It’s scary to learn, but sexual attraction to children is a lot more common than most people realise.

Not everyone with that problem will meet with the clinical definition for paedophilia, but the attraction is there nevertheless.

So what separates a would-be abuser from an abuser?

Today’s episode is part one of a two part special where we speak to three men who say they’ve never offended but struggle with the attraction they feel towards children.

We also ask an expert about exactly how common attraction to children is, and what it is that makes people more likely to act on it.

Emotive language saturated with hysteria that leaves little room for intelligent, thoughtful, obective debate … and no room for people who consider the dominant narrative to be the problem rather than their own minor attraction.

      It is…However…

…I find their stark admissions, that as many as one in six people may be “pedophiles”…and that as much as half of the male population show sexual arousal to children, to be very relevant.

You don’t hear that every day…

…You and I know it, because we care and have spent years looking into this, and observing…but most people out there, never hear it from a mainstream source.

“You don’t hear that every day.” Very true, but then the figures Richards quotes are rather imprecise which to me suggests a thin and unrepresentative underlying dataset.

She says 5% of adult men may be classified as Paedophiles, and then says between 16% and 50% of additional adult men are sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children, a massively broad range. The combined figure (21%-65%) is termed ‘would-be abusers’ … and this figure does not even include child abusing non-Paedophiles.

It is like saying 5% of men are gay, and the remaining 95% are potential and actual sexual abusers of women.
