Amos Yee: Let the kiddy diddlers speak…

01) Amos Yee: Let the kiddy diddlers speak

“Originally published on 20 November 2017”

I spent a substantial amount of time, wondering if Amos was not merely trolling us MAP’s.

Things like a few of his arguments, his tone and the chosen title of videos like this, made it seem like he was not being genuine.

The way “the skeptic community” behaved during this, was an outright disgrace.

I talk to him with some regularity and he seems to be changing into a more moderate position. But he never stopped defending us. I don’t think he is trolling. But I think he was being intentionally shocking. I don’t think he will continue doing that, tho. I gotta add, however, that he did more for our cause that all of our efforts combined in the previous decade. A lot of people probably think differently because of him. Specially because he won at least one live debate (enraging several followers of his opponent, who complained something along the lines of “you don’t give those people a platform if you can’t offer rebuttals” and that “you gave voice to evil”). Even though he has his flaws, he was the face of the movement for a while.

      How is he doing?

…and can I ask what debate this was?…I know he had several of them.

It was after the apparent suicide of Omnipolitics16, and his response to that, that I started seeing recognizable sincerity in him.
