Pro Consent = Anti Contact?…

….

“A reminder. Anti contact people are pro consent, because they acknowledge consent as an essential component of a relationship, and are aware when it’s lacking.” – Lecter/Larva

If one wanted to play around with the meaning of “pro consent” and “anti contact”, I cannot disagree.

What some of us interpret as “pro consent”, is far more broad than the current dominant ideas on social/legal consent.

“Pro Consent” as a principle, is far larger and more inclusive, than “anti contact”…even if “anti contact” might technically squeak into the fold given the angle you’ve given it here.

“Anti contact” can never be the totality of “pro consent”…They are simply not parallel equals.

I would argue, though…”anti contact” ideology necessarily denies all possibility of adequate consent…which perverts the original intention behind the “pro consent” principle.

There is a massive paradox in equating the two, because they are naturally opposed.

Do you think kids can consent?…

….

Date: February 28, 2021

“Do you think kids can consent? I’m always stuck in the middle of it – Kimberly @Darkqueen”

Not an answer to your question…Just a branching thought…

From what I have witnessed…I’ll just say that the social discussion on this question has striven, almost entirely, to be as aggressively inequitable as humanly possible…

…which is possibly the most prominent reason, why some of us push back so hard on the conventional ways this question gets answered.

…We’re done with the dogma, the gaslighting, the threats and constant stonewalling, standing in the way of research and actual honest social dialogue.

What dominates is dehumanizing speech centered around fear and retribution, over issues most people do not even appear to understand.

“Consent” has many angles in a sea of variables, all ultimately judged in different ways by different personal and social temperament.

Some tempers are highly aggressive…others, a lot less so.

We have the undesirable fate, of living in a time dominated by aggressive tempers.

Tempers are emotional…not rational…Which is why we, as a species, are not currently having a rational discussion about this question.

Addendum:

As to the actual question…as always…if the overarching culture sets its parameters liberal enough…of course, yes…kids/children can typically meet such criteria.

If a culture decides to respect a child’s autonomy and choice, then this is entirely possible.

Nothing about this statement should be controversial, in any way.

As it happens…most cultures do not respect or value a child’s autonomy and choice, nor the potential for personal growth and empowerment that such represent.

Citation Of Rush Limp-Blah!s Ugly Legacy…

Date: February 28, 2021

“Conservative radio personality and political commentator Rush Limbaugh has died at age 70.

According to FOX News, it was Limbaugh’s wife, Kathryn Adams Limbaugh, who announced at the top of his radio show that he had died from lung cancer. She said in an emotional tribute to her husband,

“Losing a loved one is terribly difficult, even more so when that loved one is larger than life. Rush will forever be the greatest of all time.”

Limbaugh revealed his lung cancer diagnosis to the public in February 2020 on his radio show. In October of that year, Limbaugh announced that his cancer had progressed and was terminal. Limbaugh said at the time,

“It’s tough to realize that the days where I do not think I’m under a death sentence are over. Now, we all are, is the point. We all know that we’re going to die at some point, but when you have a terminal disease diagnosis that has a time frame to it, then that puts a different psychological and even physical awareness to it.”

Though his right-wing viewpoints were often considered divisive, his broadcasts clearly resonated with many. According to Fox News, The Rush Limbaugh Show “grew to be the most listened-to radio show in the United States, airing on more than 600 stations.” IHeartRadio noted that at its peak, the show reached an audience of more than 43 million listeners. He continued to host his show until just weeks before his death.

Limbaugh rose to fame as a conservative firebrand, hosting his radio show for more than 30 years. He built a fanbase of millions who called themselves “Ditto-heads,” to reflect how often they agreed with him.

Limbaugh had his first taste of working in radio at age 16 while still in high school in Missouri. As the Wall Street Journal observed, his early career was bolstered when the FCC repealed the “Fairness Doctrine” in 1987, which meant that controversial opinions could be aired without any required air time for opposing views. Limbaugh took advantage of that repeal to construct a career around controversy. As his New York Times obituary puts it,

“In the Limbaugh lexicon, advocates for the homeless were ‘compassion fascists,’ women who favored abortion were ‘feminazis,’ environmentalists were ‘tree-hugging wackos.’ He delivered ‘AIDS updates’ with a Dionne Warwick song, ‘I’ll Never Love This Way Again,’ ridiculed Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease symptoms, and called global warming a hoax.”

Limbaugh was a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump and had called former President Barack Obama the, quote, “affirmative action candidate.” Limbaugh also made headlines in 2006 when he was arrested on drug charges following an addiction to prescription pills.

Limbaugh continued hosting his radio show as his lung cancer worsened and more severe symptoms set in. Limbaugh was a longtime cigar smoker, and, according to Fox News, he “was deaf” by his final broadcasts, but soldiered on.

In his final radio broadcast of 2020, Limbaugh said he “had outlived his prognosis.” He said at the time,

“I wasn’t expected to be alive today. I wasn’t expected to make it to October, and then to November, and then to December. And yet, here I am, and today, got some problems, but I’m feeling pretty good today.”

Limbaugh also told his listeners that his cancer had grown worse in 2020, despite treatments. As he said on-air, it was “going in the wrong direction.”

In his final years, Limbaugh supported Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign, and the pair became friends and went golfing together at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago resort. Trump also awarded Limbaugh with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in January 2020, only days after the radio host had learned of his lung cancer diagnosis.

On February 17, 2021, Trump broke his post-presidency silence to speak about Limbaugh’s death on Fox News.

Former President George W. Bush has also paid tribute to Limbaugh, saying in a statement,

“While he was brash, at times controversial, and always opinionated, he spoke his mind as a voice for millions of Americans and approached each day with gusto. Rush Limbaugh was an indomitable spirit with a big heart, and he will be missed.”

I’m having a hard time finding an actual recording of the AIDs deaths mockery…No doubt, it violates YouTubes TOS…so, it might actually get targeted for removal…and there is a flood of “condolences” and other Limp-Blah! related videos.

He had a penchant for mocking people, who met a bad end.

Rush Limbaugh in his own words:

Rush Limbaugh sings “I’m a Nazi!” – “Reclaim America from The Lunatic Fringe!”:

I hope they played this at his funeral.

The $50M Florida house Rush Limbaugh left behind for his wife:

The lavish life he was rewarded with, for being such a wretch.

Morality explained: the new science of right and wrong, Oliver Scott Curry – Darwin Day Lecture 2021…

….

Date: February 28, 2021

01) LINK

“In 1859, Charles Darwin turned humanity’s understanding of our place in the universe on its head. Humans have not existed since the dawn of the universe as we are today, but in fact are among the descendants of an unbroken chain of ancestors stretching back billions of years. The same is true for every living creature on Earth – our extended family tree.

In 1871’s ‘Descent of Man’, Darwin applied his theory to human nature, and to morality. He argued that ‘the so-called moral sense is originally derived from the social instincts’, and that ‘any animal whatever, endowed with well-marked social instincts…would inevitably acquire a moral sense or conscience, as soon as its intellectual powers had become as well, or nearly as well developed, as in man’.

At the Darwin Day Lecture 2021, Dr Oliver Scott Curry presents the latest scientific explanation of morality.

This new science of right and wrong answers such questions as: How do ‘selfish genes’ make selfless people? Are there ‘genes for’ morality? When does morality emerge in children? How many moral values are there? Are there any universal moral rules, found in all cultures? How and why do individuals and societies have different moral values? And what does science tell us about how we ought to behave?

The answers to these questions show that Darwin was on the right track. Morality is deeply rooted in human nature, part of our evolutionary heritage. A hopeful message in a year when we have relied on one another more than usual, to overcome the common challenge of covid.”

“With record joblessness and budget cuts across the country… somehow, the NYPD has a state-of-the-art robot dog. Join Black Power Magic Hour hosts Messiah Rhodes and Dr. Evil Genius in the discussion. From the Black Power Magic Hour ‘Bad Cops’ segment.

ABOUT THE TOPIC: The cyberpunk dystopia is here! The latest sign comes in the form of robot dogs deployed to do jobs human police used to. The NYPD just deployed Boston Dynamics’ robot “dog” Spot to a home invasion crime scene in the Bronx. This isn’t the first time the NYPD has deployed one of Boston Dynamics’ robots. Back in October, the department used another Spot to find a gunman who’d barricaded himself in a building after he’d accidentally shot someone in the head during a parking dispute in Brooklyn.

Ep. 167: The Middle Of The Road Is Deadly (feat. Rick Perlstein) – Rumble with Michael Moore podcast…

“The violent, insurrectionist, January 6th mob attempting to overturn the election results are part of a long line of a reactionary and white supremacist elements within American politics who will resort to violence or chicanery when they don’t get their way electorally. They are now at the center of the Republican party and we will have to deal with their undemocratic impulses and threats of violence as a regular feature of our politics unless we do something about it now. Historian Rick Perlstein has brilliantly documented the modern conservative movement, and he joins Michael to discuss January 6th and its aftermath, positive early moves by the Biden administration, and the ugly legacy of Rush Limbaugh that contributed to today’s violent, undemocratic and dangerous Republican party.”
