As an aspiring programmer, just someone who has worked in a few games written in Python and C, this is not possible. You can make consciousness by programming, although you can very convincingly mimic it.
I agree. Biological sentience comes from biological organisms. You cannot infuse that into things without biological life.
It’s fascinating to watch AI evolve, though.
