“The chickens are coming home to roost, and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell isn’t happy at all. According to a New York Times reporter, McConnell is absolutely livid with Donald Trump for sticking the Party with a group of “unelectable” candidates, which is likely going to cost Republicans a chance at retaking the Senate. The polls reflect McConnell’s concerns, and the House might end up in play, too, mostly because of Trump. Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.

Fitz McConnell Senate minority leader is not a happy camper right now. Folks. He’s not a happy camper cuz he’s looking at the polls. He sees what has happened with all the latest polls that have come out from the last seven days. Number 1, 5 38, their averages are now showing that Democrats are not only gonna retain control of the Senate, but they’re probably gonna pick up three seats and Republicans are gonna lose three seats because that’s how that works. And also four polls in the last seven days have shown that majority of voters actually support a generic Democrat on a ballot over a generic Republican on the ballot. So things are looking bad for the Republican party and appearing on MSNBC this past Friday, New York times reporter Peter Baker says that Mitch McConnell understands who is to blame for the sorry state that Republicans now find themselves in.

And that person is unsurprisingly Donald Trump, who Mitch McConnell feels has left them with a slate of unelectable candidates. And Mitch McConnell is correct. Donald Trump has gone out there and for these national races, you know, the, the, uh, uh, house and Senate, he has endorsed long shot Republicans. He has endorsed extremist Republicans. He has endorsed people simply for the fact that they have gone to him and expressed their love and adoration without once taking into consideration the baggage, these people carry with them. And of course the fact that they have no political experience at all. People like Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania, people like JD Vance in, uh, Ohio. And of course, people like Herschel Walker in Georgia. Now, Walker and Oz specifically, at least JD Vance, you know, has studied politics and has written about politics. But Oz Walker you’re talking about, you know, kind of has been celebrity type people who just one day said, you know what looks like?

It’s pretty easy to be a Republican. I think I’ll do that for a living. And they won their primaries, but man, are they losing spectacularly right now in their races? Oz of course doing even worse than Herschel Walker, which is a bit surprising given all the horrible things that have come out about Walker, his past statements, his lies, his campaign, all of it. And Oz is still somehow doing worse in his race than Walker is in his and those things Mitch McConnell off because those were candidates who should not have been elevated by Donald Trump. Had he done even the slightest bit of vetting on these people. He wouldn’t have made these endorsements, Herschel Walker, Dr. Oz. These people have no business being in federal government much like

Donald Trump himself, but he endorsed them because they loved him. He endorsed them because they kissed his ring among other things. And now Republicans are stuck. And what is very interesting to me, especially, you know, getting back to the whole polling issue because that’s where Mitch McConnell sees, oh God, we’re in trouble for a year folks. A straight year, every poll showed that Republicans were gonna beat the Democrats in the midterms, hands down, no questions about it. History, historical precedent told us Republicans were gonna win. There wasn’t much we could do about it. And now in the last week, and I think a lot of it has to do with the investigations with January 6th, with all of that. And with the horribleness of these Republican candidates in the past week, the polls suddenly shifted miraculously, not just one poll, like I said, not two, not three, but four of them all from different groups with different polling methods, they’re all showing the same thing.

Democrats have a shot at this right now. Technically Democrats are winning a move that would be unprecedented. And Mitch McConnell is terrified, but you got nobody to blame. But yourself, Mitch, you could have taken care of the Donald Trump problem a long time ago, you were given two explicit opportunities to do it. Once during the first impeachment, you could have gotten your Republicans in the Senate to band together, convict the guy, get ’em out of there.”
