“In a story straight out of the “You wouldn’t believe it, but…” file, a Waco, Texas mom named Heather Wallace was arrested and charged with child endangerment after she disciplined her 8-year-old son while driving home by making him get out of the car and walk the half a mile to their house through their sleepy suburban neighborhood. Wallace has since pled guilty, been assigned community service, been forced to quit her job, been required to take regular drug tests and has not been allowed to be alone with her own children. Jimmy and Stef break down this unbelievable story of overpolicing run amok and encourage anyone who can to help with Wallace’s GoFundMe page here: https://gofund.me/db1f54a3“ Yes…those cops need to be named and pictured…These are bullies with guns…No better than criminal gangs. |

This reminds me of a story about a woman, I wish I could find it, who was charged by US police and I think Children’s Aid got involved, just because she went to work and left her 11 year-old child home alone. Apparently, a nosy neighbour (Gladys Kravitts type) phoned the police on her. Unless the child has a mental or physical disability, 11 year-olds should not require a Babysitter.
I absolutely agree with that…I was spending summer days alone, back in the 1980s when I was eleven or twelve…It was fun…
I was spending entire nights alone, by the time I was thirteen…It was great.
