I went to the world premiere of “The Witch of Kings Cross”, the brilliant movie-length documentary of the charismatic, enigmatic and fully unique character that was Rosaleen Norton. I also had her original book of drawings in my possession for a few months. She was someone we had never before seen the likes of…and will never again. This documentary shows the eternal battle between the artist and society’s inane belief in its moral superiority. It also shows how this baseless belief can have terrible repercussions for some in the real world. The documentary is a gift to artists and free thinkers everywhere.
