“Anti-war voices are virtually unheard from in most of the U.S. media, and that even includes anyone who suggests that Ukraine is losing the war against Russia and needs to cut its losses and negotiate peace. German television is not quite so restrictive, it turns out, which is why journalist Wolfram Wiemer was allowed to echo these very sentiments during a recent program where he unequivocally insisted that the war was lost and Ukraine must acknowledge that fact and work quickly to find a diplomatic solution before the nation’s losses become even more severe at Russia’s hands.
Jimmy and his panel of The Dive’s Jackson Hinkle and American comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the status of the War in Ukraine and Jimmy’s talents for reading along to spoken German.”
“Homelessness seems like an intractable problem that’s just getting worse in every city in America. But you might be surprised to learn which state has adopted a strategy – pioneered in Finland – called “Housing First” that has helped drive down homeless numbers dramatically. And no, it’s not New York, California or some other deep blue state with high taxes and extensive social services either.
Jimmy and American comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the proven successful methods for bringing homelessness numbers down and why so few states and municipalities have even considered adopting those methods.”
Tiny Homes could play a huge part in solving homelessness.
“Classic rock has officially overtaken new music in terms of sales and that trend is growing. An article by Ted Gioia in the Atlantic explains the issues the current music making industry is facing and Matt delves into some of them here on Pop Goes the 60s.
Good, even great, “computer music” can be made…I think most people just aren’t that good at it.
“Human” music, with the hands directly on the instrument, will always be better…so long as the musician can actually play.
What I really don’t like, is when they take old hits and try to remake them by the formula of today…There’s an Elton John medley currently being rammed down our throats…and while I love the original songs…this end product is the laziest, most pathetic thing of cringe…
Why don’t they just play the original songs and vastly improve the quality of their radio station, instead of sullying our perception of great music?
I don’t think Elton John even cared enough to get back into the recording studio, and make this a proper duet…They just sampled his existing recordings.
It’s very sad that Elton is enabling this sort of garbage.
“During a panel discussion on MSNBC, hosts Joe Scarborough, Willie Geist and Al Sharpton discussed the allegedly growing problem of shoplifting in New York City, lamenting the theft of ten steaks from a Trader Joe’s and Sharpton’s disappointment that toothpaste is now locked up in drug stores. The hosts’ solution to the problem: more cops, more jail time, more repressive police state tactics.
Jimmy and comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the “liberal” MSNBC’s turn to the dark, pro-police state side.”

This is why I love you, despite your faults, Jimmy…even if you don’t love me back…
…You’re speaking about the exact same issues I’ve been talking about for decades…You’re speaking of my issues…and giving the same response to them, that I give.
