593_This is Post 1000_1000-Posts

I’m pleased to announce, that the post you are reading is the 1000th post to be published, on the wordpress incarnation of Our Love Frontier.

This is a milestone, which I felt compelled to mark.

While admittedly most of the content I share on Our Love Frontier is no longer solely created by me…and this greatly expands the volume of posting…it’s still relevant, that this blog [at WordPress] has reached 1000 posts…

…I’ve never been even close to this point, before…

…Not with In Self Defense…Not with Project C.E.L.I.B.A.T.E…Not with The Expressions Forum…Not with the past two incarnations of Our Love Frontier…

Another huge mile stone is soon to arrive…and today, I am both happy and proud, to have fought the good fight.

Our Love Frontier’s 3rd Year Anniversary on WordPress.com!…

480_WP_3_Year_Anniversary

WordPress.com has proven to be a worthy, humane and decent host…with a lot of integrity and principle. For that, I humbly thank the wonderful people behind this service. You’ve now officially given me the most stable home I have ever had, in the blogosphere.

In many ways…that’s a very sad and sobering point of fact, given that I’ve been blogging since 2006…It underscores just how bad prejudice, fascism, intolerance, hate and censorship has become.

…But…we’ve persevered, haven’t we?…

…We have overcome, what has been placed in front of us.

Truth cannot be stopped.

That should be core in our message…today, and into the future.

To my readers…Thank you for sticking around.

Now…Let’s go charge into year four!

Happy Christmas 2014…

Date: December 25, 2014

…It is a bit belated, but hey…

Being under the weather, I’ve stolen away to my favorite retreat, high atop Mount Gillis…

The Château and nearby village are rather spectacular this time of year, as snow falls through the crisp mountain air. Homes and merchant dens, are adorn with festive décor…

…You know…

…I recall one year, when I was a mere tween…standing in the château ballroom, as the orchestral ensemble played…Beauty and raw temptation became a thief, as precious little Danny Joyner enslaved my senses…Danny was all of eleven, and the tavern keeper’s son…

Much to my swell fortune, we found ourselves in one another’s company, standing beneath the doorway arch…

Looking up, I had to inform…”You know…we are standing under a mistletoe!”…

…With a randy smirk, Danny quipped “So what?!”…

…”This means we have to kiss!”, I retorted…”It’s the rules!”…

…”What are you?…A pervert?!”, squealed Danny…

…”Yes I am!…Proudly so!…Now kiss me!”, I begged…

…”Ewww!!”, replied Danny…”I don’t like lip kissing!”…

…”Yeah?…Me neither, usually…But there are so many, many, tender, juicy and mad sexy places a body can be kissed!…If the rule says on the lips, then it’s time to break some rules!”, I exclaimed…

…”Really?!…I think I have something I’d like you to French kiss!”, responded Danny…as I took him by the hand, and led him to my bedroom…

Unfortunately…at this point, I had the horrible misfortune of waking up from such a lovely dream…They almost never get to the most amazing parts, do they?

…Oh well…There’s always next dream.

Happy Christmas from The Château!

Happy Fourth of July, 2014!…

Date: July 04, 2014

Happy Fourth of July, to all who observe it!

…I happened upon a fascinating episode of On Being, dealing with the United States early history…the founding fathers…separation of church and state…and more…

…Thought I’d share it with you…

…On Being: Steven Waldman and Philip Hamburger — The Long Experiment of American Democracy…

I love the no nonsense talk about our religious roots…Yes it was there…Yes, it was intentional…But at the same time, it was extremely messy and sometimes outright nasty…cruel and inhumane, even. Eventually, leaders rejected formal national religion…and took a new path.

No…as an atheist, I cannot deny religious roots in the U.S….And atheists would be foolish, to deny it…Thing is, this country eventually wizened up and decided people should be free to follow their own spiritual path…be it religious or not.

…We should be grateful for that…This is what we should celebrate, and champion as atheists…

…This nation rose above it’s past, in that regard…It had enough collective sense to evolve…Hallelujah!

That is one of the best features of this country…because it can leave everybody with hope and possibilities.

Contrary to what some may wish us to believe…the United States religious history, was not a totally wonderful love story…substantially far from it, in fact.

It is refreshing to hear people give a level headed discussion, of this nations past.

As a nation…we all need to stop lamenting on “what the founding fathers intended [for us]”…

…Though I thank each of them for what they did…reality is…they are long dead now…As such, they no longer make decisions effecting the lives of people like you or I.

It doesn’t matter whether George Washington believed in god…whether he thought churches should rule over us…whether he snorted cocaine…or whether he would have liked Twinkies over Ding Dongs, given the chance to taste and decide.

…Even great dead men, don’t have the authority to make decisions for the living.

We have moved beyond, whatever it is they might have envisioned…And maybe it is time, that we all started dealing with that reality?…and the strengths and weaknesses of that reality?
