This is an attempt to get more people to sign up for their Stubs program at $20/month. So basically movie theaters are going to work like concerts or Broadway now?” I predict AMC will be gone two years from now. They’ve been closing theaters for over two decades…This move is just sad desperation…It’s a shit idea, likely to hasten their demise. I used to be a regular customer of AMC, and have many fond memories with them…I’m glad they’re no longer in my area…This would be enough to cause me to stop going. === |

This all went hand in hand with the tribulation movies [“Thief in the Night” may have been them] I’ve discussed in the past…They were literally telling us kids, that we would get our heads cut off by guillotine, if we refused to renounce “our” religion…Literally…if we were in that circumstance and we wanted any chance at “entering heaven”, we would have to endure decapitation, even if we were still young kids. It is insane and fucked up, what they did to us kids. It’s one thing to watch a drama about this type of thing…It’s something entirely different, when they’re seriously telling you “This is your future”. Even if you weren’t among the unfortunate who were rounded up, you’d have to flee civilization, because “you’d be blocked from doing business, if you were christian”…If you “accepted a mark” [required to buy and sell], you’d be “banned from entering heaven”. None of this was ever based on anything objectively happening…They merely asserted it to be fact. Nobody should be able to get away with psychologically torturing kids like that. The fact that many groups do this with impunity, is one of the most grotesque of glaring cultural hypocrisies. Looking back…I knew there were members of the church salted in, who did not take everything so literal…I looked up to, and even loved of few of these people…Yet, they never refuted this bullshit, when it showed its ugly self. …Their complicity hurts…It loaned a veneer of credibility, to that warped nonsense. Re: “Would a loving god do this?” From everything I know about goodness and decency, no decent being of any sort conceivable, would have a hand in the majority of what the bible attributes to “god”. === |
