“Criticism and mockery of Islam and its prophet is often opposed on the grounds that God and his messenger are a sensitive issue for Muslims. True as this may be, it does not warrant an immunity from criticism — or mockery — especially given the demands that Islam makes upon us all.”

“Afghanistan’s embattled President Ashraf Ghani fled the country Sunday as the Taliban moved further into Kabul, officials said.
His countrymen and foreigners alike raced for the exit, signaling the end of a 20-year Western experiment aimed at remaking Afghanistan.
Afghanistan’s embattled president left the country Sunday, joining his fellow citizens and foreigners in a stampede fleeing the advancing Taliban and signaling the end of a 20-year Western experiment aimed at remaking Afghanistan.
The Taliban, which for hours had been in the outskirts of Kabul, announced soon after they would move further into a city gripped by panic throughout the day as helicopters raced overhead to evacuate personnel from the U.S. Embassy. Smoke rose near the compound as staff destroyed important documents. Several other Western missions also prepared to pull their people out.
Civilians fearing that the Taliban could reimpose the kind of brutal rule that all but eliminated women’s rights rushed to leave the country as well, lining up at cash machines to withdraw their life savings. The desperately poor — who had left homes in the countryside for the hoped-for safety in the capital — remained in their thousands in parks and open spaces throughout the city.”
…And the puppet did flee…
I believe the price tag of these last 20 years, has toppled a trillion dollars…much of which has ended up in the pockets of for profit war mongers…and corporate vultures.
Meanwhile…the actual U.S. citizens have financial lives and an economy, in utter shambles.
What has all of this even been about?…
…That’s a redundant question…
We need to root out the people responsible for this, bring them forward to stand trial…and impose fitting sentences.
…I’m not so sure nooses and guillotines are unfit, under these circumstances.
A lot of innocent people have died…the consequences should reflect this.
