White House national security adviser John Bolton on Monday will reportedly label the International Criminal Court (ICC) “illegitimate” in an effort to push back on its plan to investigate alleged war crimes committed by Americans in Afghanistan.
Bolton is poised to make the announcement during remarks to the conservative group the Federalist Society, according to a draft of his speech obtained by Reuters.
“The United States will use any means necessary to protect our citizens and those of our allies from unjust prosecution by this illegitimate court,” Bolton is expected to say, according to the speech draft.
Bolton will threaten to sanction ICC judges if the proposal goes forward, the news service added.
“A Dallas police officer has been charged with manslaughter.
Amber Guyger, the off-duty Dallas police officer charged with manslaughter for shooting a man in his own apartment, claimed she shot and killed 26-year-old Botham Shem Jean after he ignored her “verbal commands.”
Guyger was returning home from a 12-hour shift in uniform on Thursday night when she walked into Jean’s apartment, which she said she mistook for her own, and shot him twice. According to a Texas Rangers arrest affidavit released Monday, Guyger said she fired her gun after Jean ignored her “verbal commands” and then called 911.
Jean died later at an area hospital.
About 150 people marched on Dallas police headquarters Monday night to denounce Jean’s death as well as the recent shooting of Jorge Olguin, who was killed by a security guard earlier this month after a dispute at a family party.”
“Ayaan Hirsi Ali in an exclusive video – Dawa is not terrorism, it is the act of missionizing. But when radical extremist elements start to preach Dawa they have a different agenda. They prey on the vulnerable, lonely, disaffected and troubled to convert for one purpose – Jihad.”
01) Are You Racist? – George Galloway – Oxford Union
“George Galloway tell of the time he worked as an undercover agent fighting against the apartheid in South Africa and concludes his answer by saying he will never debate with a supporter of apartheids as apartheid’s are the worst forms of racism and facism there is.
George Galloway interrupted by student who accuses him of being a racist.
Filmed on Monday 14th October 2013.
ABOUT GEORGE GALLOWAY:
Few contemporary politicians have attracted as much controversy as George Galloway. A Labour MP from 1987 to 2003, he was an outspoken critic of the policies of Tony Blair and New Labour, in particular the decision to invade Iraq. Fiery comments such as “”the best thing British troops can do is to refuse to obey illegal orders”” saw Galloway expelled from the Labour Party. But Galloway returned to the political fray by founding the Respect Party and winning Bethnal Green and Bow in the 2005 General Election. Mr Galloway re-entered Parliament in this March as MP for Bradford West and has recently provoked controversy and criticism with his comments on the rape charges against Wikileaks’ Julian Assange.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY:
The Union is the world’s most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. It has been established for 190 years, aiming to promote debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.”
I like the way he seizes control, and handles this.
…I’m a bit more split, on the whole idea that we should refuse to talk/debate with the people we disagree with…even if it is, over a deeply held belief or position.
01) This Guy Says RAISING Drug Prices is the MORAL Thing To Do
“Nirmal Mulye is such a big fan of Martin Shkreli that he decided to become him! Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down.
In the category of saying the quiet parts out loud, consider this statement by Nirmal Mulye, the chief executive of drug company Nostrum Laboratories: “I think it is a moral requirement to make money when you can…to sell the product for the highest price.”
Mulye was responding to questions posed by the Financial Times about his quadrupling the price of an essential antibiotic to $2,392 per bottle. The drug, nitrofurantoin, is used to treat urinary tract infections. It has been on the market since 1953 and is listed by the World Health Organization as an essential medicine for “basic healthcare systems.
01) I Want My Sex Back. Transgender people who regretted changing sex
“Billy, Rene and Walt were born male, but they all felt uncomfortable with their sex. So they underwent sex reassignment surgery, believing it would end their distressing condition, which is known as gender dysphoria – feeling uncomfortable with your birth sex. However, becoming female only brought problems, disappointment and regret.”
A few thoughts…
…Gender dysphoria is far more biologically complex, than “someone touched me when I was below a certain age, so I decided I didn’t want to be that gender anymore”…
That rational is strange…
…And there is something additional and distinct going on, with anyone who dislikes their sex gender so much…that they want to stop being it…to the extent of seeking surgery.
Maybe the unwanted touching was a catalyst to start thinking more about it…or, maybe it was an excuse, giving oneself permission to arrive at a conclusion?…
I think…there can be a number of factors, as to why someone might want to physically be the opposite gender.
A big reason…and a tragic reason…is because they simply don’t like themselves…and they think physical changes to their body, will change this.
…It’s a psychological issue.
It should be noted…this documentary focuses on three older transgender people…They had their operations done, well over twenty years ago…My understanding, is that advancements have been made in making things look more natural…I’m not sure about total functionality, though.
…The one admits he cannot orgasm…That’s unfortunate.
