01) New Generation, New Nonsense (The Jimquisition)

“We’re fast approaching a new generation of consoles, and we don’t even know what they’ll cost or when they’ll come out. But we DO know that Sony might allow you to preorder one from them if you’re very good.

As we hurtle toward next-gen in a year where people literally don’t have money, we’re already drowning in total nonsense. Because this is the game industry – straightforward behavior and sensible commerce went out to lunch years ago.”

I’m still on my PS3…and happy enough with it, but…yeah…Maybe a PS4 will finally be affordable?

The invitation only pre orders for PS5, sound crazy.

01) The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet – “Like The Wind” – Internet Mysteries

“There is a song that no one on Earth seems to know where it comes from. This mystery goes back over 35 years and even the combined might of the internet cannot seem to solve the mystery of this song’s illusive origin. We don’t know the song’s true name, the artist, who recorded it, what album it was on if any, where it was originally recorded, we know literally nothing.

It’s been called “Like the Wind”, but that’s just the name the internet has decided on, we don’t know the real name or the artist.

EDIT: HUUUUGE UPDATE!!! 7StringGuitarPlayer found the outro song!!!! Thank you so much my friend! This scratches a 20 year old itch and I can finally hear the whole song!

It’s called “Day in Day Out” by Mary Beats Jane!”

Ed Markey DEFEATS Joe Kennedy III…

Date: September 02, 2020

01) Ed Markey DEFEATS Joe Kennedy III

“Ed Markey has won!

The brutal Senate Democratic primary battle between U.S. Sen. Edward Markey and U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy III came down to the wire Tuesday, with the rivals pounding the pavement and pressing the flesh through sunset as uncertainty over the vote count in the state’s first major election of the coronavirus pandemic loomed large.

On the Republican side, attorney Kevin O’Connor claimed victory over Shiva Ayyadurai at about 10 p.m. as results continued to come in.

Kennedy, down in the polls ahead of primary day and carrying the weight of not just his political future but also the family dynasty on his shoulders, kept adding stops to an already-packed schedule as he tried to pull out the win against the incumbent senator.

Trump Cheers On Violent Terror…

01) Trump Cheers On Violent Terror

“Trump is promoting violence in the United States.

When he learned Don Gathers, a Black Lives Matter activist in Charlottesville, planned to run for a seat on the city council last year, a Florida man who called himself “the antifa hunter” organized a racist social media campaign that eventually led Gathers to quit the race over fears for his safety.

In a hearing over video conference on Monday, Gathers told the man that he hopes one day he might be able to forgive him for his actions, the Associated Press reported.

“But today is not that day,” Gathers said. “I despise all that you and others like you represent.”

Republicans Block More Stimulus…

Date: September 02, 2020

01) Republicans Block More Stimulus

“Republicans are done helping working-class Americans.

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told CNBC on Tuesday that aid to state and local governments poses the biggest obstacle to a pandemic relief deal, even as “real progress” was being made between Democrats and Republicans.

Democrats have pushed for nearly $1 trillion in aid to municipalities hit by revenue shortfalls as a result of the coronavirus crisis, but Meadows told “Squawk on the Street” that figure was not “based on reality.”

Meadows said the GOP would support only $150 billion in new funding to state and local governments. That figure, on top of a previously allocated $150 billion, would rectify what he said was an approximately $275 billion loss in revenues sustained during the recession.

Noam Chomsky: Elon Musk’s Neuralink won’t work!…

Date: September 02, 2020

01) Noam Chomsky: Elon Musk’s Neuralink won’t work!

“#NoamChomsky #Descartes #MarvinMinsky Noam is one of the the most cited scholars in history and it is impossible to ignore his opinions. You may differ with many of them, as I do. But you cannot simply ignore him. Therefore, I was fascinated by Noam’s ideas on the Turing test and its connection to, and implications for, Musk’s Neuralink. It was in-depth, despite his overarching consonance with Turing’s view: “The question whether machines can think is too meaningless to deserve discussion” to which Noam adds “It’s kind of like asking whether submarines can swim.”

Noam’s thoughts on Elon Musk’s Neuralink project aren’t a secret (https://www.inverse.com/article/32395-elon-musk-neuralink-noam-chomsky) but he goes into a more nuanced account of neural nets and the pursuit of cognition in our discussion.”
