01) THE AGE OF CONSENT: DREAM OR NIGHTMARE!

I really wish we had this level of open dialogue on pedophilia [and child sexuality] in the USA. This is light years ahead of anything here…It’s sad that we have to look backwards in time, to find it…and it’s depressing as hell that both Frits and Edward are deceased…They were true giants.
Who are our next giants?
A few thoughts…
a) “For a Lost Soldier” has never really come off, as an ideal portrayal of man boy love…and it’s anal sex scene, is somewhat horrifying, speaking as a pedophile…It’s not a portrayal that fits someone, with my orientation…So, I’ve identified with parts of it…but, I’m still substantially disconnected from the movie. We need better media to represent us.
b) I’ve often found it astonishing, that many people place impossible standards on adult child relationships with a sexual component…defining them such, that they are unattainable as a recognized positive experience…all because of one, singular element. We don’t judge most relationships like this…and we accept that relationships of any duration of time, will have hard and upsetting experiences…Normally, we see this as good…because it teaches a child how to get along in life with others…It helps them develop coping and navigational skills, in relationships. But when sex is involved, these considerations suddenly vanish…replaced by overblown hysterics.
c) Do notice how they were talking about the lack of an understanding world [and peers] around them, and an inability to openly talk about their experiences, as being a primary factor in leading children to ultimately see their experience as negative. Just imagine how different it could be, if their existing sexuality were accepted as obvious fact, and nobody pretended that they had to self censor their speaking while around children…Imagine a child being able to discuss their sexual experiences, with any peer or adult…and having it be a fun, positive discussion.
