Seth Rogan Calls Out Twitter CEO…

01) Seth Rogan Calls Out Twitter CEO

“The tweet kinda speaks for itself, but just in case you can’t see the embed (or if it gets deleted), here it is in plain text:

I’ve been DMing with @jack about his bizarre need to verify white supremacists on his platform for the last 8 months or so, and after all the exchanges, I’ve reached a conclusion: the dude simply does not seem to give a fuck.

Apparently, Rogen had a direct line to the head of Twitter for the past 8 months to chat about Twitter’s hate problem. Wow, to say the least.

Mind you, it’s not like Twitter is doing nothing about its toxicity problem — in December, it started banning notable white nationalist and nazi groups, and the company’s currently fighting in court to keep them banned.

But Twitter is also facing pressure from the right, claiming that the social network is trying to suppress conservative viewpoints — reportedly, Dorsey has been holding secret dinners with conservative leaders who believe the tech industry is biased.

Twitter likely doesn’t want to get into the nightmare business, of splitting hairs over who “deserves” to have a verification check mark…

…It’s just another thing, for huge segments of their userbase to endlessly nag them over.

In addition…I don’t see this as being even remotely useful…It’s more less SJW level attacking…Who cares if they have a check mark or not?…Does it alter their ability to do what they are doing, on Twitter?…Most people can verify themselves, by using other websites…linking them with their Twitter account, and referencing both on each other.

Twitter identity verification, is not an endorsement from Twitter…It’s a simple verification, that people are who they say they are…Where did people lose sight of this point of fact?…And why are people trying to pretend that this new “state of endorsement” exists, being made up out of nowhere, by themselves?

It should go without saying, after all these years…I have no affinity with white supremacist, or otherwise racist, life philosophies…I just think this whole story is way out there…and pretty outlandish…petty, even…

…And it’s a further encroachment, of SJW tactical aggression…anything to get in another jab, at anyone they don’t like…no matter how senseless.

About the Verification Check Mark:

I’ve always thought it ridiculous that it’s there…but it’s not available to the overwhelming majority of us…As if nobody else but celebrities, politicians, etc., need it.

Illegal Sex Advertising or Free Speech. A FOSTA Lawsuit…

Date: July 09, 2018

01) Illegal Sex Advertising or Free Speech. A FOSTA Lawsuit…

“Late last year, Congress passed FOSTA, a law designed to fight the exploitation of children and sex trafficking. At the time, we knew that FOSTA will be challenged in court. The Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act was designed to fight online ads for escorts shown on backpage and craigslist. But FOSTA is less about illegal sex and more about free speech. FOSTA is less about protecting children and more about censorship. Is FOSTA well designed to further the government goals of preventing victims of human traffickers? Is FOSTA narrowly tailored to avoid designating as illegal acts that are perfectly legal? Let’s talk. FOSTA is in fact a free speech issue. There are several reasons why FOSTA may be unconstitutional.”

Factors associated with early deaths following neonatal male circumcision in the United States, 2001-2010…

Abstract:

“We sought to quantify early deaths following neonatal circumcision (same hospital admission) and to identify factors associated with such mortality. We performed a retrospective analysis of all infants who underwent circumcision in an inpatient hospital setting during the first 30 days of life from 2001-2010 using the National Inpatient Sample. Over 10 years, 200 early deaths were recorded among 9,899,110 subjects (1 death per 49,166 circumcisions). Note: this figure should not be interpreted as causal but correlational: it may include both under-counting and over-counting of deaths attributable to circumcision. Compared to survivors, subjects who died following newborn circumcision were more likely to have associated co-morbid conditions, such as cardiac disease, coagulopathy, fluid and electrolyte disorders, or pulmonary circulatory disorders. Recognizing these factors could inform clinical and parental decisions, potentially reducing associated risks.”

Abstract from a second paper entitled Lost Boys, An Estimate of U.S. Circumcision-Related Infant Deaths by Dan Bollinger, dated 7 December 2017,

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/240804903_Lost_Boys_An_Estimate_of_US_Circumcision-Related_Infant_Deaths:

“Baby boys can and do succumb as a result of having their foreskin removed. Circumcision-related mortality rates are not known with certainty; this study estimates the scale of this problem. This study finds that approximately 117 neonatal circumcision-related deaths (9.01/100,000) occur annually in the United States, about 1.3% of male neonatal deaths from all causes. Because infant circumcision is elective, all of these deaths are avoidable. This study also identifies reasons why accurate data on these deaths are not available, some of the obstacles to preventing these deaths, and some solutions to overcome them.”

The Bollinger paper goes on to say that: “Medical associations fail to warn parents of the very real risk of death from circumcision. Neither the American Academy of Pediatrics, nor the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, nor the American Medical Association mentions death as a possible outcome of the surgery in their policy statements on circumcision. The American Academy of Family Physicians statement says death is possible, but (according to this study’s findings) significantly under-reports the risk as 1/500,000.”

Thank you, to feinmann0

Failing to inform that death is possible…Isn’t that some type of malpractice?
