01) Russia: Where keeping child porn is legal

“In Russia, possessing child pornography is not a crime and laws that govern child exploitation are weak. Government authorities say the majority of sexual crimes against children are never reported or investigated.

Those are among the reasons that even the Russian government admits the country is a world leader in the production of child pornography.

For the first time people will be held criminally responsible for storing child pornography even if they don’t distribute it. To this day, you can’t punish anyone for that” in Russia, [Elena] Mizulina said. The bill has now passed its second of three readings in Russia’s State Duma, the lower house of the legislature.”

I’ve been saying for years, that there remains various places where having child pornography is still legal…even today.

I have to admit, though…I did not realize Russia was one of them.

I mean…I’ve done enough reading to know, Russian boys are really hot in this arena…and Russian boy sites have been quite numerous…and legendary…

…but I always thought that was an organized crime, sort of thing…like, the Russian mob greasing government palms, to ignore what they were doing…

I didn’t realize you could openly own the content…

In fact, I thought Russia had draconian pornography laws, in general…

…I guess you learn something new, every day.

There is no such thing as “child pornography”, there is only pornography or non-pornography. It is all good or it is all bad. Nothing is both good and bad at the same time just as nothing can be both the truth and a lie at the same time.

You are perfectly free to post this statement on this blog, whenever you like [though, preferably where fitting]…

I do appreciate and respect your stance…In some ways, I agree with what you are doing here.

It’s just that…”child pornography” is an actual established title, that references a sub category of pornography…

…And, I have an entire sub-blog with many posts, named after it.

I’m afraid that I’m just not going to stop using the term, on this blog.

It seems Russia does not care overly much for its children … several millions of kids are estimated to be homeless, and this in a country holding 144 million people … this may go some way to explaining a relative absence of child-security specific laws.

I’ve heard of their child crisis in Russia…

I almost dare say…it would be better that a CP ban came in, with a wave of other child protections in Russia, than things remain as they are…

…Though, I absolutely do not believe that a CP ban, is in any way necessary…But you know, the opportunist hand wringers would be right there pushing it through.

“…it would be better that a CP ban came in, with a wave of other child protections in Russia, than things remain as they are…”

Seems to me kids globally mostly get an incredibly raw deal from life. It pains me to think of so many in need of love and emotional support simultaneously being denied access to those of us willing and able to provide it.

On the topic of CP … depends how one defines the term. A ban would drive something that is currently freely available underground and give it commodity status, just like drugs. Surely far better to allow kids to manufacture and distribute free child erotica as they do now in Russia, rather than create conditions where such erotica is forced to become true pornography with a price tag.
