“A new Pew Research Center survey of Muslims around the globe finds that most adherents of the world’s second-largest religion are deeply committed to their faith and want its teachings to shape not only their personal lives but also their societies and politics. In all but a handful of the 39 countries surveyed, a majority of Muslims say that Islam is the one true faith leading to eternal life in heaven and that belief in God is necessary to be a moral person. Many also think that their religious leaders should have at least some influence over political matters. And many express a desire for sharia – traditional Islamic law – to be recognized as the official law of their country.”
This is an important survey.
“Overwhelming percentages of Muslims in many countries want Islamic law (sharia) to be the official law of the land, according to a worldwide survey by the Pew Research Center. But many supporters of sharia say it should apply only to their country’s Muslim population.
Moreover, Muslims are not equally comfortable with all aspects of sharia: While most favor using religious law in family and property disputes, fewer support the application of severe punishments – such as whippings or cutting off hands – in criminal cases. The survey also shows that Muslims differ widely in how they interpret certain aspects of sharia, including whether divorce and family planning are morally acceptable.”

“Pedophilia now being taught in California schools”
“Consider: With ‘sexual orientation’ increasingly becoming a legally protected category across almost half of the states already – with Congress working on it too – the implications of defining pedophilia and pederasty as such are hard to overstate. For instance, in California, ‘discrimination’ based on ‘sexual orientation’ is prohibited. If pedophiles simply have a different ‘sexual orientation’, does that mean schools are required to hire them?
Establishment propaganda outlets disguised as news organizations such as Salon and Slate have also been working to normalize and redefine pedophilia and pederasty as a ‘sexual orientation’. LGBT movement hero Harvey Milk, who is celebrated in California’s fake ‘history’ textbooks as a great figure, was known for raping minor boys, at least one of whom later committed suicide. There seems to be a trend here in California.
There was a time when exposing children to far more mild obscenities was a crime. Now it is considered ‘education’. Informed Parents of California has waged a noble battle to expose the perversion and evil that is being forced on the state’s children. However, that is not enough. Parents who love their children must protect them from this evil now – and that means getting them out!”
Well…that source isn’t at all prone towards biased distortion, now is it?…
Personally…I applaud that school district, for having the spine to do such a thing…not that I think they’re literally pushing pedophilia…
…But I do think that a historical perspective on human sexuality, is important to preserve and teach.

What Sam Harris does…is provide a forum where unique, and even controversial, things can be shared and discussed in a clear way.
What this does…is it allows us to get a more personal feel for the individual…probably allowing us to read into their personality…and it allows them to explain their experience and rational.
Many of us want this exact sort of forum, because we recognize that most media is lacking this type of integrity.
I don’t care that the person being interviewed may have warts [we all do, it’s just that some people hide them better than others]…I will always choose to hear it from the mouth of the original source, over having to be told some [often biased and distorted] version of “what they said”, by someone who deeply dislikes them and is probably celebrating their lack of access to popular media platforms.
Thinking and intelligent people generally want this sort of thing…and generally despise the self appointed gatekeepers, who want to stand in the way of it…
…which, I believe, is why Steve Shives is so widely reviled…particularly among atheists.

|Sub-Blog Archive – Frontier Series
Date: April 23, 2019
The Carnival of Eros never really got off the ground, and this may be the only time it ever appears.
The concept behind this series, is that it was supposed to act like a sort of “Blog Carnival”…but it could also feature websites, posts on chat boards, and the like…as it was more about featuring established individuals in the BL/GL community.
Strictly speaking…it would not have been a blog carnival, as nobodies content was ever going to be published on Our Love Frontier…There were only going to be links to the content…Which makes this series kind of like M.A. Voice [though it predates M.A. Voice, as a project]…The other thing which set it apart from M.A. Voice, is that it was supposed to focus on MAPs who embraced a life philosophy, that included a positive outlook on intergenerational relationships.
I’m mostly just posting these bits now, in order to tidy up one of my various folders, with a glut of stuff in it to get posted.
I never collected enough links to do a proper post in this series…I guess I figured M.A. Voice was enough to keep up with.
I probably wont be reviving this series.
I collected all of the following in 2015.

“In 1963, Sanders and Deborah Shiling, whom he met in college, volunteered for several months on the Israeli kibbutz Sha’ar HaAmakim. They married in 1964 and bought a summer home in Vermont; they had no children and divorced in 1966. Sanders’s son, Levi Sanders, was born in 1969 to girlfriend Susan Campbell Mott. In 1988, Sanders married Jane O’Meara Driscoll (née Mary Jane O’Meara), who later became president of Burlington College, in Burlington, Vermont. The day after their wedding, the couple visited the Soviet Union as part of an official delegation in his capacity as mayor, a trip he ironically called a honeymoon. Sanders considers Jane’s three children—Dave Driscoll, Carina Driscoll, and Heather Titus (née Driscoll)—to be his own. He also has seven grandchildren.
In December 1987, during his tenure as mayor, Sanders recorded a folk album titled We Shall Overcome with 30 Vermont musicians. As Sanders was not skilled at singing, he performed his vocals in a talking blues style. Sanders appeared in a cameo role in the 1988 comedy-drama film Sweet Hearts Dance, playing a man who distributes candy to young trick-or-treaters. In 1999, he acted in the film My X-Girlfriend’s Wedding Reception, playing the role of Rabbi Manny Shevitz. In this role he mourned the Brooklyn Dodgers moving to Los Angeles, reflecting Sanders’s own upbringing in Brooklyn. On February 6, 2016, Sanders was a guest star alongside Larry David on Saturday Night Live, playing a Polish immigrant on a steamship that was sinking near the Statue of Liberty.
Sanders’s elder brother, Larry, lives in England. He was a Green Party county councillor, representing the East Oxford division on Oxfordshire County Council, until he retired from the Council in 2013. Larry ran as a Green Party candidate for Oxford West and Abingdon in the 2015 British general election and came in fifth. Bernie told CNN, “I owe my brother an enormous amount. It was my brother who actually introduced me to a lot of my ideas.”
Sanders had a typical upbringing for his generation of American Jews: his father generally attended synagogue only on Yom Kippur; he attended public schools while his mother “chafed” at his yeshiva Sunday schooling at a Hebrew school; and their religious observances were mostly limited to Passover seders with their neighbors. Larry Sanders said, “They were very pleased to be Jews, but didn’t have a strong belief in God.” Bernie had a bar mitzvah at the historic Kingsway Jewish Center in Midwood, Brooklyn, where he grew up.
In 1963, in cooperation with the Labor Zionist youth movement Hashomer Hatzair, Sanders and his first wife volunteered at Sha’ar HaAmakim, a kibbutz in northern Israel. His motivation for the trip was as much socialistic as it was Zionistic.
As mayor of Burlington, Sanders allowed a Chabad public menorah to be placed at city hall, an action contested by the local ACLU chapter. He publicly inaugurated the Hanukkah menorah and performed the Jewish religious ritual of blessing Hanukkah candles. His early and strong support played a significant role in the now widespread public menorah celebrations around the globe. When asked about his Jewish heritage, Sanders has said he is “proud to be Jewish”.
Sanders has rarely spoken about religion and has avoided directly answering or downplayed questions about it. He has stated he is “not particularly religious” and “not actively involved” with organized religion. He has been described as a “secular Jew who does not practice any religion” and a “secular Jew” who lacks “God talk”, and he has called himself a “secular Jew without strong ties to organized religion”. A press package issued by his office states, without elaboration, “Religion: Jewish”, while the Washington Post describes him as potentially “one of the few modern presidents to present himself as not religious.” He has said he believes in God, though not necessarily in a traditional manner: “I think everyone believes in God in their own ways,” he said. “To me, it means that all of us are connected, all of life is connected, and that we are all tied together.” Larry has described Bernie as “quite substantially not religious”.
