I remember when I bought my first modern PC…It was awesome…I also remember when I discovered malware removal tools…and the shocking amount of stuff installed onto my PC, without my knowledge or consent…

I quit doing exchanges with small, unreputable [or unknown] people and businesses.

For the most part, I just stay on mainstream web forums, and buy commercial software from established businesses with a good reputation…I figure, if they have had years of being vetted…and if they have an established reputation to protect…this will act as a hedge against them doing something shady. If they’re out in the open, they can be held accountable.

I love the concept and virtue of truly free software for all…but I’ve been very squeamish about actually downloading and installing software I find off of the internet “for free”.

In fact…I still have dozens of programs I’ve downloaded over the decades, which I’ve never actually installed on any computer…mostly because I forgot to come back to them…My tactic was to download and wait six months, or whatever [an overabundance of time]…for my antivirus software definitions to catch up, and clear it…or expose it…whichever.

At this point, they’ve been scanned numerous times over, on multiple machines…because I just keep dragging those folders forward, as part of my collection of stuff…I expect some of them wont even run on this PC…and I should delete them.

Point is…unless I’ve been doing business with a company for years…I have a hard time trusting whatever is made available “for free” online.

…Which is why I am very selective about where I get my software.

“A spiralling death toll in Gaza fuels calls for weapons supplies to Israel to be disrupted. As pressure mounts on the U.S. – Israel’s main supplier of arms – Pentagon Press Secretary Major General Patrick Ryder tells Ghida Fakhry that Washington’s support for Israel is ‘iron clad’. And former State Department official Annelle Sheline explains why, faced with mounting evidence of war crimes and atrocities in Gaza, she ultimately made the decision to resign and go public.”

Re: military General Piece-o-Shit…

Yeah…You’ve “been having that conversation from the beginning”…and not doing a fucking thing about it, when you are entirely ignored.

…And you’ll continue to have these fucking meaningless conversations…and be entirely useless in ending this…while sending money and weapons to the genociders.

…Fucking Piece of Shit.

This military Asshole is doing nothing more than evading and stonewalling.

Yes…the U.S. government is fully guilty of violating its own laws, of war crimes, of mass child murder and of genocide.

Batman V Spiderman: Marvelous Justice…

….

Write me a 2000 word story, involving Batman fighting Spiderman. It’s title should be “Batman V Spiderman: Marvelous Justice”.

“Gotham City. Rain lashed against the gargoyles, each drop a tiny explosion of reflected neon from the city below. Perched atop a gothic spire, Batman, a dark silhouette against the storm, surveyed the scene. A warehouse district, shrouded in mist, pulsed with an unnatural red glow. It was unmistakably Oscorp tech.

“Strange for Oscorp to be this active at this hour,” rasped a voice beside him.

Batman turned, his cowl revealing only the hard set of his jaw. “Especially with all their ‘research’ facilities conveniently blacked out.”

Oracle, a disembodied voice through a hidden earpiece, had a knack for stating the obvious when it mattered most. “You think they’re onto something?”

“Only one way to find out.”

Batman deployed his cape, transforming it into a rigid glider, and launched himself into the storm. He landed with a silent crouch on the warehouse roof, the rhythmic clang of a massive machine thrumming through the steel. A single skylight offered a glimpse inside.

Spiderman. He clung to the ceiling, his red and blue costume incongruous in the industrial setting. But it was the machine that held Batman’s attention. A monstrous device, bathed in crimson light, hummed with an otherworldly energy. It pulsed, resonated, a beacon aimed straight at the Wayne Enterprises satellite network.

“Hold on, Bats,” Spiderman quipped, his voice tinged with a youthful nervousness, “Looks like you’ve got the wrong warehouse again.”

Ignoring him, Batman activated his detective vision. The machine was channeling raw, chaotic energy. It could be a weapon, a power source, or something far worse. He couldn’t let it get into the wrong hands.

“Spiderman,” he said, his voice a low growl, “step away from the machine.”

Spiderman chuckled, a sound that did little to mask the tension in his voice. “Uh, no can do, Bats. This tech is way out of your league. Besides, isn’t this kind of your villain-of-the-week gig?”

“This isn’t a game,” Batman retorted, already formulating a plan. “That machine is dangerous.”

The skylight shattered. A hail of bullets rained down, forcing both heroes to take cover. From the shadows emerged a group of heavily armed mercenaries, their leader a hulking cyborg with a cybernetic eye glowing red.

“Welcome to the party, heroes,” the cyborg sneered, his voice a distorted rasp. “This little device is a key to a new power source. And it belongs to Hammer Industries.”

Batman recognized the logo emblazoned on the mercenaries’ armor. Hammer Industries, a rival tech giant notorious for their cutthroat tactics. This wasn’t just about stealing tech; it was about crippling Wayne Enterprises.

“We can’t let them take that machine,” Spiderman said, firing a web at one of the goons, yanking him off balance. He launched himself into the fray, his movements a blur of acrobatic agility.

Batman, ever the strategist, used the distraction to his advantage. He tossed a smoke pellet, the warehouse filling with an opaque cloud. He glided through the haze, taking down mercenaries with silent precision. His gauntlets packed a bone-crushing punch, augmented by years of martial arts training.

Spiderman, meanwhile, was a whirlwind of wisecracks and web-slinging, disarming opponents with playful taunts even as he delivered a swift kick. Despite their contrasting styles, they moved with an unexpected synergy, their backs to each other, a silent trust forming in the chaos.

But their combined efforts weren’t enough. The cyborg leader, a powerhouse of augmented strength, shrugged off their attacks. He grabbed Spiderman in a metal vice, squeezing the air from his lungs.

“Give it up, spider-boy,” he growled. “This isn’t your fight.”

Suddenly, a batarang whizzed through the air, clipping a wire on the cyborg’s back. Sparks flew as the machine overloaded, the cyborg convulsing in pain before falling unconscious.

“Nice save, Bats,” Spiderman wheezed, gasping for breath.

Batman, ever focused, ignored him. The machine pulsed faster, its energy reaching a fever pitch. It overloaded with a blinding flash, bathing the warehouse in an otherworldly red light.

As the light faded, a figure materialized on a central platform. Tall and slender, clad in a black and green armored suit, a menacing helmet obscured his face. He held a glowing orb that pulsed with the same energy as the machine.

“Excellent work, gentlemen,” the figure said, his voice a chilling rasp. “You’ve activated the Oscorp Isotope Converter. Now, the power of the Otherverse is mine.”

Batman recognized”

write me a 2000 word continuation of this story’

“The warehouse fell silent. Spiderman, rubbing his chest where the cyborg’s grip had tightened, stared with wide eyes at the newcomer. “Uh, Bats, any idea who the cosplay party crasher is?”

Ignoring the quip, Batman narrowed his eyes at the imposing figure. “Who are you, and what do you want with the Isotope Converter?”

A chilling laugh echoed through the warehouse. “I am Doctor Doom, ruler of Latveria! And with this converter, I shall tap into the limitless power of the Otherverse, a dimension beyond your wildest dreams. With this power, I will reshape reality itself!”

The air crackled with energy, the warehouse growing colder. A sense of foreboding washed over them. Doctor Doom raised the orb, its pulsating red light intensifying.

“Spiderman,” Batman said, his voice urgent, “We need to stop him from activating that device. It could have catastrophic consequences.”

“On it, Bats!” Spiderman shot a web at a stack of crates, creating a smokescreen. He zipped through the haze, aiming a kick at Doom’s knee.

Doom backhanded Spiderman with surprising ease, sending him crashing against a wall. The web-slinger shook his head, grimacing. “Okay, yeah, maybe this isn’t your standard street thug.”

Batman, meanwhile, had used the distraction to his advantage. Throwing down a smoke pellet, he activated his grapple hook, launching himself towards Doom. He landed a powerful punch to the villain’s chest, the force of the blow amplified by his armored gauntlets.

Doom stumbled back, momentarily surprised by the unexpected attack. “A worthy opponent,” he rumbled, his voice betraying a hint of respect.

The clash was brutal. Batman, a master of hand-to-hand combat, fought with a calculated intensity. Doom, wielding super-human strength, countered with raw power. The warehouse echoed with the clang of steel as their fists met.

Spiderman recovered from his fall, slinging webs to impede Doom’s movements. Doom, however, effortlessly tore through them with his bare hands. “Pathetic! Your efforts are futile!” he roared, unleashing a blast of crimson energy from his gauntlet.

The energy blast tore through the air, narrowly missing Spiderman. Batman, utilizing his agility, dodged the attack, a plan forming in his mind.

“We need to overload that converter!” he shouted above the din, pointing towards the machine.

“Easy to say, Bats! How do we do that?” Spiderman weaved between crates, dodging another energy blast.

“There might be a manual override panel,” Batman said, already scanning the machine through his detective vision. “We need to create a diversion.”

A dangerous grin spread across Spiderman’s face. “Leave the distractions to me, Bats!” He shot a web at Doom’s helmet, temporarily blinding him. “Hey, big guy, ever heard of the itsy-bitsy spider?”

Before Doom could react, Spiderman had crawled onto his back, weaving webs to bind his arms. Doom thrashed around, but Spiderman’s webs held firm.

“Just hold still, grumpy-gills!” Spiderman taunted. “Batsy needs some time to do his gadget thing.”

Taking advantage of the distraction, Batman leaped towards the control panel highlighted by his detective vision. As he activated the override sequence, the Isotope Converter went haywire. Crimson energy arced wildly, the machine threatening to tear itself apart.

Doom, realizing the danger, ripped the webs off him and threw Spiderman aside. He turned his attention to the malfunctioning machine, desperately trying to regain control.

“No! You will not ruin my plans!” Doom roared, surging his own energy into the machine in a desperate attempt to stabilize it.

A blinding light erupted from the Isotope Converter, filling the warehouse. When the light faded, both heroes were flung back, disoriented. Smoke rose from the machine, a burnt, metallic smell filling the air.

Doom stood panting, his armor smoldering. The orb in his hand was cracked, its glow flickering erratically. He glared at the heroes, fury burning in the eyes revealed through the damaged helmet.

“You have thwarted me this time,” he snarled, “But this is not over. The power of the Otherverse will be mine!”

With a final roar, Doom vanished in a swirling vortex of crimson energy. The warehouse fell silent, the heroes catching their breath.

“Well, that was…something,” Spiderman finally said, rubbing his head. “You think he’s gone for good?”

“It’s unlikely,” Batman said, already surveying the scene. “But at least we prevented whatever he had planned.”

Spiderman chuckled, a nervous tremor in his voice. “So, uh, Bats, about that whole ‘wrong warehouse’…”

That was very good. Thank you!

“You’re welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Here’s the ending:

gig…maybe next time we can team up on a crook with a slightly less apocalyptic agenda?”

Batman offered a rare, almost imperceptible smirk. “Perhaps.” He tapped his communicator. “Oracle, any sign of Doom?”

“Negative, Batman,” Oracle’s voice replied. “But there’s unusual energy readings emanating from the Oscorp tower. It seems your little scuffle may have caused some collateral damage.”

“On it,” Batman said, already grappling towards a ventilation shaft.

Spiderman watched him go, a thoughtful expression on his face. “Guess a hero’s work is never done, huh, Bats?” he muttered, then shot a web towards a nearby window. “See you around, Gotham!”

With a final quip, Spiderman disappeared into the night.

Later

High above Gotham, atop a Wayne Enterprises skyscraper, Batman surveyed the damage. Oscorp Tower, a gleaming testament to technological arrogance, was now shrouded in darkness. Emergency vehicles swarmed the streets below.

“Any casualties?” he asked Oracle.

“Thankfully, no. Seems the energy surge overloaded the tower’s systems. Oscorp’s having a bad night.”

“Good,” Batman said grimly. “Keep an eye on Oscorp. And see if you can find any leads on Doom.”

He stood there for a moment, a solitary figure against the glittering cityscape. The encounter with Doctor Doom had left him unsettled. The villain’s power, his ambition to control a dimension beyond their own, was a chilling reminder of the threats that lurked in the shadows.

“There’s always another fight,” he muttered, a vow more than a statement.

As dawn painted the horizon with streaks of orange and pink, Batman melted back into the shadows, Gotham’s silent guardian, ever vigilant. The city, battered but unbroken, continued its restless slumber. The night may have ended, but the battle for Gotham, for the world, had just begun.”

Strictly speaking…this is not exactly what I asked for…But it is a good short story.
