I’m pretty sure I’ve encountered this in the past myself, a long time ago. I think he just means that he is at ease with christianity in the culture he lives in, because it has no real political power there…and he accepts the more positive aspects of it. I’m not comfortable at all, calling myself such a thing…but then, I live in a substantially different culture…where organized christianity continues to throw its weight around, and attempt to dominate over everyone else. In short…it is an abusive and obnoxious presence here. === |
