01) Debunking Holocaust Denial – The Fred Leuchter Report – #1

“The Leuchter Report is junk science! His methods were flawed and his conclusions are not supported by evidence. Normally I would say that people like him design experiments to get the results they wanted but I believe Leuchter was so incompetent that he unwittingly stacked the deck in his favour.”

Architect’s Micro Studio Apartment…

01) Architect’s Micro Studio Apartment

“In this video, we tour the incredible 28sqm (301sqft) apartment of architect Douglas Wan. The Melbourne apartment was originally constructed in the 1950’s as housing for nurses. It’s now been completely reimagined for modern times and transformed into a clever small studio.

For Douglas, this was an opportunity to develop a small living space that would perfectly fit his needs and lifestyle. Attracted to simple living and a self described monastic lifestyle, he wanted to create a place where he could be a part of the city, yet also retreat from it. He ventured to carry out an architectural experiment and find out what was possible in his own small home.

The result is a micro apartment which is as clever as it is simple. One which utilises the entire space, while remaining open and light. It’s rustic history is celebrated, yet also contrasted with the modern elements. Most importantly, it’s a wonderful home.

Exploring The Abyss (Terence McKenna)…

01) Exploring The Abyss (Terence McKenna)

“This is one of the first long public lectures McKenna gave, dated back to 1982.”

Strictly speaking…I’m not necessarily using this sub-blog series, in the way I’d originally envisioned…

…It was going to be something closer to The Bible Survey, or The Koran Study…actually delving into religious texts…

…As time has moved on, and that plan has moved further out into the distance…this idea has laid dormant…But I started running across philosophers [Alan Watts, Terence McKenna] who were in some way linked with Buddhism…or at least Hinduism…and I wanted to start posting them in a series, as I find them interesting [even if I do think there is some issue that can be taken with them, at times]…

…So…I decided to commandeer this sub-blog, to host such content…I hope I am not perverting it, too much…as some of this may stray outside of Buddhism.

I still would like to get back to the origins of this project, read and discuss Buddhist [and likely Hindu] texts and philosophy…Maybe, it will eventually happen.

How Is Your Brain Keeping?

Viamund The Rake

As many messages are being relayed about the importance of the Human Brain in regards to what makes you more or less human. Here is a discussion about the human brain. Let us mention what is known, as well as the 3 most popular myths about the human brain, followed by the World observations and then My personal opinions about the human brain.

Humans know relatively nothing about the human brain, just as they know relatively little about D.N.A. They are quick to emphasize the importance of these things that all of Us share, yet also quick to dismiss what they do not know (90%) as being unimportant. They say it is nothing to be concerned about or call it “junk”. This lends itself to many claims, since so little is actually known, it is difficult if not impossible to actually prove or disprove any claims.

Now let us all…

Camille Paglia Can’t Say That…

Date: May 03, 2019

01) Camille Paglia Can’t Say That

“Art students are trying to get the social critic fired from a job she has held for three decades.

For more than 30 years, the critic Camille Paglia has taught at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Now a faction of art-school censors wants her fired for sharing wrong opinions on matters of sex, gender identity, and sexual assault.

“Camille Paglia should be removed from UArts faculty and replaced by a queer person of color,” an online petition declares. “If, due to tenure, it is absolutely illegal to remove her, then the University must at least offer alternate sections of the classes she teaches, instead taught by professors who respect transgender students and survivors of sexual assault.” Regardless, the students behind the petition want her banned from holding speaking events or selling books on campus. In their telling, her ideas “are not merely ‘controversial,’ they are dangerous.”

Others believe that the student activists are trying to set a dangerous precedent that would undermine freedom of expression and free academic inquiry. “The effort to remove her for expressing her *opinions* strikes me as political correctness run amuck,” a faculty member emailed. “Instead of discussing and debating, they attempt to shame and destroy. This is pure tribalism. It is exactly what Donald Trump does when he encounters something he doesn’t like.” Most at the institution seem to hold positions somewhere in between.”
