One Last Kiss…

01) KISS Announces ‘End of the Road’ Farewell World Tour

02) Kiss Online

“After a legendary 45-year career, KISS is taking a final run. The band announced their End of the Road farewell tour on NBC’s America’s Got Talent on Wednesday (Sept. 19).

The multi-year stint will give fans one last opportunity to witness the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ famous explosive live shows.

KISS is the latest of music icons who have announced final live shows recently, including Elton John, Paul Simon, Ozzy Osbourne and Lynyrd Skynyrd.”

After 45 years…Kiss is one hell of a lot deeper and diverse, than you would ever imagine if you are only familiar with their most famous hits [like Rock and Roll All Night, Deuce or Strutter]…

…Most of their early hits demand time to grow on you, before it hits you…that this is actually good…

…And for all the complaints about “over production”, or “too slick/commercial a sound [aka it’s not the true band]”…they still put out a number of great modern [even a tad bit more “pop-ish”, soft rock] tracks.

It’s interesting how polarizing Kiss seems to be, whenever they come up in conversation with just anybody…randomly…

Most people who hate Kiss, seem to have a very shallow exposure to their music.

…And I can more less understand that…Most of their more modern stuff, just does not get played on the radio…or anywhere…You have to seek it out, and purchase it online…or luck out, and find it in the tiny “music section” at a department store.

Kiss had a rebirth, and a metamorphosis, back in the early mid-eighties…It was their second heyday, and they were a lot more polished…They put out some excellent content, during and after that time.

…But Kiss will never truly escape the “type casting”, of loud, unsophisticated guitars, and unvarnished vocals…Not given what most people hear from them.

I always get a bit depressed, whenever I hear of another fair well tour…

…I think the first one that really caught my attention, was the Cher tour…and more recently, the Elton John tour…What a horrible loss, his departure is going to be…

So many people, who’ve produced the music of my life…are leaving us.
