01) Donald Trump Threatens Twitter
“President Donald Trump waded into the controversy surrounding Twitter Inc.’s so-called shadow banning of some Republicans, which has been accused of limiting their visibility in search results on the social media giant’s platform.
“Twitter ‘SHADOW BANNING’ prominent Republicans. Not good. We will look into this discriminatory and illegal practice at once! Many complaints,” Trump said Thursday in a Twitter posting.
Twitter shares slipped 3.2 percent, to $42.79 in early trading in New York.
According to a report Wednesday by Vice News, Twitter is restricting the visibility of Republicans including Republican Party Chairman Ronna McDaniel and GOP members of Congress in an attempt to improve political debate on its service. Democrats haven’t been “shadow banned,” the website reported.
A Twitter spokesman said in a statement Thursday that the company doesn’t engage in shadow banning. “We are aware that some accounts are not automatically populating in our search box, and shipping a change to address this. The profiles, Tweets and discussions about these accounts do appear when you search for them.”
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey responded to the report in a tweet Wednesday. “We have a lot more work to do to earn people’s trust on how we work,” he said.

This is an acknowledgement of something, which some of us have known for a long, long time…
…The right wing camp is getting “shadow banned”, outright banned, or otherwise punished more for their behavior…because they have a much higher concentration of malicious [and over all dumb] sociopaths amongst them.
Today is my nine year anniversary on Twitter…and in most of a decade…I cannot even tell you, just how many times I’ve witnessed right wing people harassing, threatening [even violently…like, murder, rape and other forms of physical assault], doxing…I’ve seen some insanely sick things come out of these people, either directed at another MAP or myself…or both…often part of an extended campaign of harassment, and attempts at terrorism [tormenting their victim]…
These behaviors do not simply violate Twitters terms of service [and community code of conduct]…they are top tier violations, of the most serious form…They are extreme behaviors, on a social network platform…
…On a platform like Twitter…you don’t typically get any worse than this [other than those who also attempt/succeed following through, offline].
It is not even up for debate…that people engaged in this behavior are in violation of Twitters terms of service, nor that Twitter is fully justified in taking action against them for it.
…But, my goodness…all the people who are discovered crying, whining, complaining, lashing out at Twitter [and more fiercely still, at MAPs], after they received a banning or a “time out”, over their indefensible behavior?…
…It’s as if these brain dead idiots, are oblivious to what they’ve just brazenly done…They’re in absolute, total denial over it.
…They somehow seem to believe, that Twitters rules against harassment, threats, smearing, doxing and the like, do not apply to them…
…or that pointing out that the target of their malicious [often times obsessive, sick and demented] behavior “is a pedophile”, inexplicably resolves them of all responsibility for what they just did to another human being, on Twitter’s platform.
Hell…in their warped minds, they think they should be rewarded for behaving like that…and then become shocked and outraged, when just the opposite predictably happens to them.
In general…the right wing tends to be a lot more abusive, and cross the line [aka, violate the rules] a lot more often…Which explains why they have such high frequencies of getting banned, or otherwise limited, on a platform.
We MAPs have been trying to explain to these sorts of idiots on Twitter, just how it is that a MAP can openly be present and function on Twitter for years [most of a decade, in my case], when they get outraged over discovering us on Twitter…as if there were ever some kind of rule outright banning racial, sexual or ideological groups…
…They have such a hard time wrapping their mind around the fact…that Twitter’s terms of service and community standards, are designed to crack down on malicious [or illegal] behavior…and that when a MAP does not engage in malicious [or illegal] behavior on Twitter, they are not going to be banned from Twitter, or otherwise punished as though they had violated the terms of service.
My own longevity on Twitter, despite countless exchanges with these sorts of douche bags, can absolutely be attributed to the fact that I scrupulously abide by Twitters terms of service, and community standards.
…Since I’m a civilized, sophisticated, refined and decent human being…this just comes naturally to me…So, I fit in at Twitter quite marvelously.
We MAPs are not “protected” on Twitter, by Jack or anybody else…
We MAPs exist in the exact same Twitter environment, under the exact same Twitter rules, as everybody else on Twitter…
We MAPs tend to be far more mindful of our behavior, especially because of the unfair, hyper scrutiny placed upon us…and a history, of suffering extreme discrimination.
